Gift Certificate or Pre-Paid Credit Card?

We will be traveling with my Mother-in-Law in November on the QM2. We want to give her some money to play around with on the cruise.

 

Do you recommend going with shipboard credit, or with a pre-paid Amex or Visa that she can use to secure her shipboard purchases.

Darcie is right. It will be much more convenient for your MIL to use a shipboard credit than a pre-paid credit card of any kind.

Why not arrange some shipboard credit for her AND also give her some traveler's checks for on shore purchases?
