Best time to visit South America?

When is the best time to cruise around the Horn? I know the seasons are flipped from us but can't decide if we should look at Spring or Fall.

The seas really vary day by day. I was there around the same time and one time the seas were farily rough and another time they were not as rough. Personally I think that anytime from December thru February is a nice time to go there in terms of weather and seeing some of the wildlife, such as the Penguins.

I agree with Keith. Go there in January/February which is their summertime, the same as here. Even though the weather and seas vary from day to day, it is probably at its best when it is warmer.

Yes, I agree with Jennie and Keith. Jan-Feb is the best time for Penguin viewing.
