Opinions of Valor

We were on the Valor in January. I'm not sure I can say anything was different from other ships. But it was a great cruise.

The ship was active, lots of stuff going on all the time. No chance of getting bored. The service all around was fabulous on our trip. The cabin steward greeted us by name every time he saw us. Wait staff in the dining room did a great job. The bartender at Jeanne's was top-notch.

The ship itself was very clean and well kept. It's big enough to spread out the 2,600 + passengers without being crowded.

It's tough pinpoint any one thing. But we enjoyed the ship and crew and we had great cruise.

The ship is amazing, very patriotic, it's true. I loved the ship because of its bright colors, lighting, etc. I loved how big it actually is compared to other ships (like my first cruise, the Elation) It's a very clean ship and it will take your breath away when you see it.

I really enjoyed it. I don't really like sailing on the same ship more than once, but I'd wouldn't mind sailing on the Valor again!!! ENJOY!

This is a great ship however just returned from West Carib on the 16th and must say the service in some areas was the worst I have seen in 23 cruises with Carnival. The room stewart always came as we we getting ready to go to dinner so he would remark Oh well here is your paperwork for tomorrow. And each night when we returned from dinner the cabin was untouched. He made up the cabin 1 night and we had a towel elaphant that was it for the week. Waitstaff in Lincoln dining room was great and that is what saved the trip. Paul the Matre D :[sp] really works the crowd for his tip at the end he sings and goes around to each table I bet he get more tips than anyone. Debarkation is a joke if you are using Carnival transfers just stay on the ship until your number is called because the bus will not leave until it is full and we sat in the bus for 90 minutes when we could have been eating breakfast on the Lido deck. The TV has changed and is awful you have no idea of what is coming on no idea about movies. no idea where you are time temperture of pools etc. But they do push the Carnival Seamiles Credit card I am sure if they could force it on us they would. My opinion the service has gone down on Carnival maybe since the retirement of Bob not sure but not happy with Carnival. ok start flaming

I also just got off the Valor on 12/16 and I had a wonderful time and I thought the service was top notched. My room steward, Patrick from London was great - my room was cleaned and towel animals were ready every night. I saw Patrick every single day and we had some nice conversations. I also ate in the Lincoln and I too loved Paul (LG - Life's Good)..I also had a wonderful time with Denis and Edouard - my waiter and his assistant. Ivana the bar waitress was very friendly and often saw her at the nightclub as well. Corina (not sure of her title) but she made sure that my friend was taken care of (my friend has food allergies). I had absolutely no problems with the staff or their service - my group and I felt like we were well taken care of.

We were on the Valor in September, and it was our best experience yet. Our cabin steward was great, our wait staff in the Lincoln dining room called us BY NAME every night after the first night (Frank and Floriza). We ran into our wait staff different places on deck, and even on St. Maarten, and they always made a point to call out to us and say hello. Needless to say, they received EXTRA tips on the last night! On the day we were supposed to get into St. Thomas, we were delayed several hours because of a medical emergency that required the ship to turn around and meet the Coast Guard in the middle of the night, but by the time any of us knew about it, the entertainment staff had planned a bunch of games and such to keep people occupied. Some people complained that the port call was cut short (a lot of us had to cancel our excursions because we arrived too late) but I tell you, if I was the one with the medical emergency, I would have been grateful to have been on the Valor! Of course, I won the Free Cruise Raffle on the last night, so this is my favorite ship! :D

  • 8 months later...

I am glad to read all the great reviews about the Valor. We will be sailing on her November 8, 2009. We are on the SALUTE TO VETERANS cruise out of Miami. Can't think of a better ship to have a SALUTE TO VETERANS cruise on than the Valor. Any Veterans, families or supporters want to join us? If you do, go to the roll call on her.:D

We sailed the Valor in March and loved it. We had a wonderful cruise and the service on the ship was outstanding.

The only thing I didn't like as much about the Valor was the layout, but that is only because I prefer the layout of the Spirit class ships over the Conquest class. Not Valor's fault! ;) We did kind of get used to the layout as the week went by and we learned our way around.

I think you will enjoy the Valor very much. Have fun! :)

I really enjoyed my Valor cruise. Since the ships in her class are identical, other than decor, I can't give you any exciting information about how special she is. I can tell you the food was excellent, the service top notch and the entertainment great. It was a fabulous cruise. I'm sure you'll enjoy your time on her. She's a wonderful ship.

For those that went on this ship, what did you like about it? What was neat or different than other ships/cruise lines.

We're going on this ship next October, 2008.

We sailed on her March 06 and was great, our best Carnival Cruise untill now, great food, good service, nice crew.

I have nothing negative to say about the Valor, I will sail her in a heart beat .

Enjoy your cruise,

Terry:)

Havent personally been on her, but heard from friends and family that they loved it!! Not one complaint, and a really memorable trip at that.

They seemed to enjoy the entertainment a lot, but this was about 8 months ago, so I am not sure if its flipped over!?

lol , At least I am not flaming, lol

Is part of my new calm patient personality effort week !!!

Is bad that you did not have a good time in the Valor, I had always read positive stuff on her, My experience was very good, the only thing that I was not impressed but it was not bad was that we had a young female room stewart and that was her first cruise after she went and did the training for her job, she will do the room every day, every night, but there were things that I did notice, no matter that , she did clean our room every day, supply us with all the necessary things and was pleasant. The Food was excellent and the shows were very nice. Friendly crew, nice ship, good layout in my humble opinion. But everyone had a different experience, that was ours and I do respect yours.:)

First of all, I am Canadian, so my opinion will be very different. I am booked for the Valor in January and a co-worker went a few months ago. She said it was very american everywhere you go. She didn't really like the decor, and I too don't like it, but I am NOT going for the ship, rather I am going for the ports. So folks, don't expect to see many pictures of the ship on my Webshots page....I told her that most ships are NOT like at all and she was going to go again in the next year or so with her husband.

I think Joe Farcus designed a ship that only americans would like, anyone else and the answer would be NYET, NON, NOOOOOOOOOO!!!

Okay......

I like the decoration of the Valor, neat, very Americana , but everyone has a different point of view.

I don't really understand the theme. I get the patriotism/Americana idea. I just don't know how some of the decidedly UN-American elements (Ivanhoe Show Lounge, Winston's cigar bar, Shogun Club Casino, Paris Hot Jazz Club, Iliad Library...) fit the bill...
