You get a circular sticker on your Platinum card that says Milestone Rewards Member when you reach your 25th cruise with Carnival. The only benefit so far is that you get On Board Credit in the amount of 25% of your booking charge on the 25th cruise...50% on your 50th...75% on your 75th and basically the 100th cruise is free. :)

At least you guys get to try to use your Platinum status for the onboard perks. We've got missing cruise credits in our history and I've been trying to get our records updated. We lost our PVP earlier this year and her replacement left also. I tried e-mailing 2 other PVP's that people on these boards recommended to see if they could help and they never even answered my e-mails. I also saw a thread that listed a fax number to send proof of sailing to, so I tried that fax number without any response. I then called Carnival and talked to a CS rep who gave me a different fax number. I resent my documents and have still not heard anything. I also tried to add the information online under "My Bookings" where they ask "do you have any additional cruises to add?" but I haven't gotten a response from that avenue either. I can't tell you how disappointed I am with Carnival right now.

Email me at musicalcruiser@hotmail.com and I will see if I can help.

Just put Cruise Critic in the subject so I know what the email is about!!

We had 8 cruises added with no problem. All we had was embarkation pictures for all but one ....the first one...they excepted a Kodak picture (and a luggage tag ~~don't know how we still had that) for the first one.

We are on Liberty this Saturday and I didn't realize till got luggage tags that I've "gone platinum"..

soooo when it ways to go to VIP area at the terminal, with Carnival do you still get in the long line outside the terminal and then go to the VIP area inside or is there a separate line/area for VIP. We are hoping to get to port by 11:30 even tho they "say" boarding is at 1:30:confused:

THANKS!:)

Congratulations!

YEP - regardless of Platinum/Suite/Skipper's Club (etc..) everyone still has to go through the same line to get through security... at least at the ports we have sailed from.

We usually arrive at the port around 11 AM - this typically results in a boarding time between 11:30 to noon.

...and I agree with the previous poster. Taking advantage of the Platinum Only Pursers area had me shouted down by the regular line. Explaining it to them was useless. Only bad event on an otherwise nice 5 dayer on the Fantasy.

Last cruise middle of Dec. which was third as Platinum, got VIP boarding,Weclome letter in cabin, the Stationary, and entry to slot toury. That was it nothing else. Couple trips to Concierge/Purser desk gave up,They said your on list but could figue out why no other perks. On last day told them don't worry about it. Purser asked "Did you get platinum card after boarding"?? Hello? Anyway Enjoyed cruise Some where somebody dropped the ball maybe a new crew member first contract etc.

On my December '07 cruise I stood proudly in the "Concierge" line at the Purser's desk (I was the only one in the line) and not one pax in the "regular?" line said one thing to me as the only Purser on duty just continued to wait on the people in that line and completely ignored me. I felt like a V I P. When he finished all of the people in his line...he did take care of me. Maybe Platinum is so special that Carnival hasn't told the crew ??

Sheessh... I hope it's not that way:confused:  .. I've been "Elite" on Princess and "Diamond" on RCI for a while and especially Princess really really treats you right when you go Elite! Oh, well, new DH gets military rates on Carnival so we will be on their ships a lot in the future for the rates and Princess for the perks...

Not to worry. We have never had a problem being waited on in the Platinum line. Although, unless it is an emergency, I try not to use the Platinum line if there is only one Purser working....just out of courtesy.

As far as the ports go...New Orleans is one of the ports that has (or at least did all last year) a separate Security Line for VIP. Mobile did not. But Mobile certainly made up for when once we got past Security. Since we were delayed by the fog EVERYONE was there to get on the ship at once. It was a crowd!!! Once we got through Security, we SAT (yeah) in a chair while the Rep finished the VIP family ahead of us and then it was our turn. 10 minutes later...we were on the ship. They escorted through the Embarkation pictures (past everyone else) and through the Sail and Sign picture (past everyone else) Love it!!! :)

I am now Plantium going on my first cruise since making this status.

My concern is what do you about luggage tags. Carnival does not mail out luggage tags. You print them off. How do they know where to take the baggages

Anyone have any comments on this

The luggage tags that you print out at home using the Edocs will have VIP on them along with the cabin number. We printed them out in color but am not sure if that is requires.

Also Port Everglades had a VIP security line.

San Diego did not, also did not have a VIP lounge.

If they have a "special" concierge line for Platinum....it should have a Purser on duty at all times. If not...why have one ??

99% of the time there is more than one Purser there. There are times when a Purser may be pulled to the back to do something, leaving only one Purser behind the desk. I don't see it often, but it has happened.

Look...every thread I have read from you about this program has been negative. If you want to find fault with anything, you don't have to look hard.

We are pleased with the service and the perks. If they are not up to your standards and you are so unhappy with them...sail another cruise line. Frankly you are starting to sound more "star fish" then Freddie.

Maybe you should have taken the hat off before you got on line.

My husband have been Platinum 3 times and have an awful lot of tote bags!! Not to sound ungrateful but is there no other logo item they can give us? Haven't they figured out that after a few cruises as Platinum the tote bags add up? The first year (also the first time the program was in place) we were on Liberty and we had a bed full of Carnival logo items- tee shirts, visor caps, key chains etc. The next time it was only 2 tote bags. So far we have 7 tote bags with another cruise in about 10 days. We love the appetizers and desserts and the stationary is a nice touch. The early embarkation is wonderful too.

I certainly wish Alice (our Platinum solo dinner mate - see my Miracle 12/17 review) had been forced to eat with other solo cruisers. She was the only "low" point of the cruise!

See, if Carnival would recognize folks with 5 Carnival cruises, they would have enough people per sailing to justify a separate lounge!

I think I'll write and recommend they do that! :D

As if we would desire to socialize with people who ONLY have five Carnival cruises under their belt....

;)

I like the idea, but will like it even more in 2009 when I hit my 10th Carnival cruise! :D

I wonder how many platinum cruisers they have (on average) on each sailing???

When I was on the Miracle over New Years I went into the casino, and I saw the Platinum list. It was two pages long. There were a lot of Platinum cruisers on my last cruise.

on my last cruise they would only give us one bag. My wife and I are both Platinum.

TWO less than SHOULD HAVE been there.... :(

We, as you'll recall Alex, opted a couple of months ago to CANCEL that sailing in favor of a trip to the mountains (Canaan Valley, WV). As it turned out, we saw ABSOLUTELY no snow!!!

To add insult to injury (yeah, right... ;) ) there was snow (well - OK, flurries) near DAYTONA BEACH this morning!

Oh well - I trust you guys had a GREAT time! How did your Meet-n-Greet go??

Hi Tom. Im still in Bushnell Florida. and its very cold here. I met KAT and C-gar in and elevator, and KAT looks like she would be a ot of fun. I also met Trish-bo after she won at bingo. All three were very nice people. The cruise was a good one. 9 days went by very fast. Too fast.

Hi all. I am about to take my 9th Carnival cruise. But my first one was in the 80's and Carnival has not given me credit for it in my history. When I e mail them, they just tell me that they did not keep track back then. I have asked them how to get it on my credit but they have not answered me. I have the original Carnival produced on- board pictures with the name and date of the ship with us standing in front of the banner; I have the original GLASS Carnival cocktail glass; but I don't have the documents ( 24 years old by now) Any advice on what to do to get my cruise history credited?
