SusieV Posted January 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2008 We've never done this before but are considering putting down a deposit for Solstice next winter while we're on Constellation this month. We may not be able to go because of finances but it'd be nice to have a booking just in case. Is there still an onboard credit and is the deposit fully refundable in the event we are unable to go? Can we transfer the booking to our travel agency when we return? And does anyone think there will be "special" cabins on Solstice like the sweet sixteen on the millie class? I looked at the deck plans and with the new divisions within categories, it looked like they were trying to take care of that and charge top dollar for a cabin that might be more desirable. hajekfam Posted January 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2008 The onboard booking credit with Celebrity is hardly worth it. The amount ranges from $50 upwards depending on the cost of the cruise. Most bookings unless you book a suite will only receive a $50 onboard credit.

Hi Susie V ! The new program that Celebrity has, lets you buy a certificate, which can be used towards the deposit of a future Cruise. The certificate says it is non-refundable, but once make a booking, you can transfer it to another booking if you need to make a change. As Hajekfam said, unless you are spending quite a bit of $$$ on your Cruise, they arent worth the bother, as it is non-refundable. Under the old plan, We always booked onboard, but we have since stopped.
Lcmandell Posted January 7, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 7, 2008 I bought 3 open booking certificates on our recent B2B HNL-SYD cruise because Celebrity had a special promotion on board Mercury, the on board credit will be issued according to the length of cruise not cost of cruise. Perhaps Celebrity has now realized that their new policy wans't attracting on board bookings.
