Jen & Kim Posted January 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 7, 2008 I would like to pack using some space saver bags that I have but they would require a vacuum hose to re-pack. Does anyone think it would be a problem for me to borrow the steward's vacuum?:o
Sue L Posted January 7, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 7, 2008 You might want to look into getting the kind that you just roll to get the air out. Check at Magellans.com You could try with the steward but I would make arrangements a couple of days before because when you are packing that last afternoon/evening they may not be around. cb at sea Posted January 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2008 Most of the vacumms are the "upright" variety--no hoses! That's the problem with using those bags--they're great for the outgoing trip, but no so hot for the return trip!

NJGRANNY Posted January 8, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 8, 2008 Our friend does that - asks the steward to use his/her vacuum cleaner for her bags. She's never had a problem.
Cruise Gopher Posted January 8, 2008 #6 Share Posted January 8, 2008 Since when are the Henry type vacuums uprights? Yeah I have never seen an upright vacuum on any of the cruises we have been on. They are always canister vacs because they are easy to maneuver in the tiny cracks and crevices of the stateroom.

We have never seen any upright onboard..... Ask around once on board, and you shall receive! Bon Voyage~~ Leslie
