iratherbesailing Posted January 8, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 8, 2008 In Tortola from 3-9pm. It sucks but I really would like to see the Baths. Do you think there would be enough sunlight to enjoy the Baths in March.
Pyrate13 Posted January 8, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 8, 2008 Is your cruise offering an excursion? If so it will be very short and if not then you will not be able to do it using the ferry.
CTBob Posted January 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 8, 2008 As Chris said in our Noordam thread, you will have about an hour more sunlight than we had. Under those conditions I'd definitely go for it. Bob
Pyrate13 Posted January 9, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 9, 2008 Sunset in March is right around 6:30, if your ship arrives at 3 you probably won't get off much before 3:30. It's a 45 minute or so ride to VG so that's 4:15 if you leave right away. So you can't really get a lot of time at the Bath's in my opinion and considering what cruise lines usually charge for excursions I wonder if it's worth that short a trip. But that's just my opinion. As for the ferry, you would be taking the last ferry from Tortola and once you got to VG you would pretty much have to grab the next ferry back to Tortola since it is the last one. To each his own, I'm just putting out my thoughts and Bob may be absolutely right.
iratherbesailing Posted January 9, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted January 9, 2008 Thanks for you posts. Even if we get 1 1/2 to 2 hrs there, that should be sufficient. I was wondering about the return trip to the ship as it would be dark by the time we get back. Maybe Cane Garden Bay would be a better idea.
