ljtee Posted January 12, 2008 #1 Share Posted January 12, 2008 DH and my older son (5) will be snorkeling... and its my day to do something great with our youngest - who is 2. I've thought of the atlantis submarine - but wonder if anyone has done this and if it is a good trip? Otherwise, what beaches would you recommend for a nice relaxing day? Or, what other attractions are there that will delight a very young cruiser?
Sunniebgi Posted January 14, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 14, 2008 Go to the Wildlife Reserve if you/she are into animals. Beachs for a 2 year old would be either Carlisle Bay, or Accra/Rockley, but on the cove end of the beach (little more shallow and secluded). or up to Mullins beach.. Nice Swimable water. Where are the other 2 snorkling?? you may find that if your just relaxing on a beach, you can do that where ever they are. For Atlantis Submarines there is a minimum height requirment of 3 feet, so you may want to consider this into your plans. good luck
ljtee Posted January 14, 2008 Author #3 Share Posted January 14, 2008 Thanks for the reply - I hadn't seen the height restriction... I'll check out the nature reserve. DH and DS will be snorkelling as part of a sail/snorkel turtle excursion - not sure where!
ljtee Posted March 21, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted March 21, 2008 Is the nature reserve called "Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary?" I can see that excursion and think it might just fit the bill if indeed that is the nature reserve you were talking about...
cinnam0n Posted March 21, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 21, 2008 No, the Graeme Hall Nature Sanctuary is NOT the same as the Wildlife Reserve. The Nature Sanctuary is a protected lake and woodland area, mostly for birds and fish. The Barbados Wildlife Reserve is where you can walk among the Green Monkeys, Brocket deer, and large tortoises. We LOVED our visit there, and it is excellent for children.

About equal I'd say, just different - Graeme Hall may have the edge in gardens and just plain space/area .. set out across wider area, with a lawn kids seem to like and boardwalks(which keeps them 'on the path' reading informative signs all along the way) - and includes two large walk-in aviaries with exotic parrots and waterfowl! .
