They'll probably have a wine tasting on one of the sea days. It's usually held in the dining room around 3:00 or so. There should be a coupon in your Crown and Anchor coupon books. It's OK but nothing to brag about.

We have been to them before....for us it is something to do to stay away from the sun creating more skin cancer spots:eek:

Robyn.....Could you look at your compasses from the Aruba route and tell me what the themes are in the dining room each night? Trying to decide on a night for Portofino's. Thanks! (sorry if you've posted this before......I'm too lazy to look back!)

We're ready to book and select a cabin. We'd welcome all of your comments.

What do all of you think of the aft cabins? We're looking at Deck 6. We haven't stayed aft before, but we're looking at proximity to the aft outdoor deck on Deck 5. Is there too much motion? I know - that's pretty subjective, isn't it? We've never gotten seasick, but it takes me a while to get my sealegs ;) We can go mid-ship if we need to.

What can you all tell me about the outdoor deck on Deck 5? Are there deck chairs?

One more question: What is Jester's on Deck 3? I couldn't find an explanation on the website, but I'm new :)

What a beautiful ship! Everything looks so bright and, well, Caribbean :D

Thanks, everyone!

Robyn, It sounds like you have first hand knowledge of the casion (and plenty of it:rolleyes: ). Have you ever taken money out of the casino?(from the cashier, not the tables!) Was there any problem with this? ( we have ,for some reason, alot of OBC from different sources and I'd like to take $200 out for spending money in the ports.) Thanks again! Wish you were going with us!

Not having stayed aft, I'll leave that for the experts. Jester's is the nightclub.

Marsha - the Marriott Stellaris is stunning! It has been completely renovated and the rooms are absolutely beautiful. The pool and beach are wonderful too!

Take a look at my album on webshots - Look for the AOS B2B album and there are plenty of pics of the Stellaris, the grounds and the rooms. Search under ckrobyn101 and you will find the album :)

Great choice of hotel!

The least desireable night in the dining room is the "Get out there" menu which I believe is on Wednesday night. I took the compasses home again after I scanned them, so I can't check for you right now (I'm in the office...sssshhhh!) The Get out There menu replaced what was previously known as Caribbean night, and it is the night when many people opt out of the dining room in favor of the WJ or Portofino's.

If I were you - I would NOT book an aft cabin on deck 6 on any Voyager class ship. The balcony is totally obstructed by the metal superstructure at the aft of the ship, and there is a huge grey cement area in front of deck 6 aft balconies that you have to look at before you can even see the ocean! I would suggest an aft cabin on deck 8 or above if aft is really what you want. I had JS 1694 last year and the view was good. Having said that, I did want to try the aft - but mid ship is my first choice.

Jesters is a night club, and I think it is on the same deck as the casino which is deck 4 :)

Yes I have taken money out of the casino on my sea pass. Simply go to the cashier with your sea pass and tell them how much you want!!! If you are using a credit card to secure your sea pass you shouldn't have any issues, plus - this "cash advance" is not considered a true "cash advance" but rather an "onboard purchase" so you will not have to pay cash advance interest with your credit card company :D

I wish I was going with you too!!!! Have a spectacular cruise.....without me.....LOL! :p I will be there in spirit.....;)

We are just off AOS and last week the weakest menus where on Tuesday(Italian) and Wednesday(Get out There). We went straight to Portofinos to book our reservation (Sunday around 1 pm) and Wednesday night was already booked except for 9 pm so we went on Tuesday. Hope you enjoy your cruise.

OK....thanks, y'all, for the menu nights. Wednesday night it will be!

I, too prefer the cabins midship. We usually get a center hump cabin. It's the same as any other cabin in that category, but the plus is the location.....convenient to everything. My husband is diabetic and has trouble with his feet, so all that walking back to the aft is out of the question. And there is a bit more motion back there if the seas are a little rough. The balconies are to die for, but Robyn is right. If you want an aft cabin....go for deck 8 or above. There again ....the higher you are....the more motion.
