marle7 Posted January 17, 2008 #2 Share Posted January 17, 2008 We're going to stay at the Hyatt Place when we cruise in Feb out of Ft. Lauderdale. Haven't stayed there yet, but it looks quite nice from the website!
teedee Posted January 17, 2008 #3 Share Posted January 17, 2008 I like the Rennaisance Fort Lauderdale it's close to the port and I've been able to get it on Priceline for around$100 a night which is a great price for the hotel. Terri
lovecruzin Posted January 17, 2008 #4 Share Posted January 17, 2008 We recently stayed at the Ft Lauderdale Grand (soon to be a Hilton property). It is newly renovated and right across the street from the Pier. I think all of the room have balconies with views of either the Intercoastal or Port. spearmint Posted January 18, 2008 #5 Share Posted January 18, 2008 We stayed in the Comfort Suites for $83. It is fine for a pre-cruise night. A basic hotel, but with complimentary transfers from airport to hotel, and hotel to Port Everglades.

CathyK2 Posted January 18, 2008 #8 Share Posted January 18, 2008 We also like the Hyatt but another choice is the Embassy Suites. If you get your room on the right side, you can watch the ship come in from your room. Also, they have the full made to order breakfast in their atrium included which always helps start the day off nicely. Cathy

Nanatochase Posted January 19, 2008 #10 Share Posted January 19, 2008 Thank all of you for these suggestions...we are driving down to cruise on the Millie in April. Can you leave your car at any of these hotels and take a shuttle to the pier? I know in Port Canaveral, you could leave your car at the hotel for the week. I haven't seen anything on here or in my trip tix books that states you can to that.
valandjerry Posted January 19, 2008 #11 Share Posted January 19, 2008 My sister is driving down to Ft. Hotel cost $145.
Seahorse44 Posted January 19, 2008 #12 Share Posted January 19, 2008 Does anyone know if any of these hotels take car-rental returns, and if so which rental companies? We need to do a one-way rental and drop off and it would be great to do it at the hotel we stay at. Thanks in advance.
greydog Posted January 19, 2008 #13 Share Posted January 19, 2008 Last Dec we and another couple in November, used Hampton Inn Plantation about 10-12 mins drive from pier. Both cases, stayed 1 night, free parking for the week. Sign up for late morning hotel shuttle. Crabby Jack's(?)(Dicks?) nearby had 1-lb MAINE lobster special for $15. Hotel was standard but recent Hampton quality. Price was about $135. Good Luck
Rare boards Posted January 19, 2008 #14 Share Posted January 19, 2008 We stayed at the Extenda a Stay hotel in fall of 2006 and the cost was $89 + tax. No frills, carry in your own luggage, no big deal. Was nice and clean close to everythng even the Port.
