Thanks for your help leaving on the Liberty 2/2/08:D http://www.admiraltydive.com will pick up from the ship. I recommend them They'll have to take a taxi, but http://www.cokidive.com is the choice for a shore discover scuba dive.
cruisin4fun323 Posted January 21, 2008 Author #5 Share Posted January 21, 2008 Thanks for all your help:D With Admiraltydive will it matter that one of the guys has never dived? He should pick it up quickly and my husband has dived a few times. They are trying to avoid the Carnival croud and having to wait with everyone. Ronn452 Posted January 21, 2008 #8 Share Posted January 21, 2008 Good Day! I have followed your posts and replies. I would strongly discourage your husband and friend diving without being certified; especially in open water. Being a bit familiar with diving or getting the hang of it quickly is not a substitute for being able to respond if the equipment fails or a diver becomes lost or disoriented. I have been a diver for 30 years and my wife for 7. She still is a novice and I would not want her diving without a very competent partner. To just don the equipment and go for it is a recipe for disaster or very serious consequences. I will be surprised if any dive shop in the islands will do anything other than offer a "discover scuba" dive without a "C" card. These are not like a true dive; but much better than nothing or contributing a couple of "souls: to Davy Jones Locker. If you find a taker, let us know; we will avoid them like the plague 'cause they are an unsafe dive shop. Don't mean to douse your adventure, but I am thinking about their welfare. cccole Posted January 22, 2008 #9 Share Posted January 22, 2008 I have to agree with you Captain Ronn. When we do a trip with certified divers and non we always arrange a boat that will do divers and snorkelers. Or.....just a boat for divers. I personally would not want any of the members in our family who are certified to be diving with a group that has a non-certified diver doing the same thing. I have sons who are very athletic, swim, play waterpolo, and "catch on quickly" but would never have thought of having them dive without being trained and certified.
