lol for once we agree. Still no certainty. A offered tip cant hurt imo.

that must be it, the 7 day, 7 hour of the 7 month and we are both standing on the 7th step or some such. Accidently of course.

We went to see the Md on our first cruise and got a table for 2 noproblemo..sans tip. just ask nicely and think of him thru out the cruise then tip him a few bucks;)

There is no real guarentee that you can get a table for two. Tables are assigned at ramdom before you even get on the ship.

As suggested go to the Matri D and hope for the best. I do not think that tipping will help. It may seem that way but if it is available when you ask you will get it whether you tip or not.

Some ships (Fantasy class at least) don't have any tables for 2, but you may get a table for 4 with no one else if the ship isn't full. Also, we've tried to tip the maitre 'd when asking for changes and they've refused.

We went to the maitre'd on embarkation day and waited in line. As soon as we got to the podium we asked nicely if it would be possible to switch and he accomodated us no problem. We didn't tip or anything. He did get a nice tip at the end but thats only because he came by our table each night to check on us and was very personable.

When you book ask for it. Than when you don't get it go to the MD and see if he can get you one.
