Hi Beachbum1944, your pictures are very nice. How far from the port is this beach ? Was it crowded ? We are going to Barbados soon and are still looking for a nice way to spend the day. Thank you for your infos.

It was about a 15-20 min. ride each way.

Now that I've had another look

on a different computer at the office

I can tell you that this beach is HOLETOWN/Sunset Crest

about halfway along the West Coast of Barbados.

 

Nice pics! you had good weather that day,

but it's nothing out of the ordinary for us in Barbados.

And if I'm not mistaken

it's right behind the Holetown Police Sta. and Post Office.

 

Decades ago it used to be Mama Leone's Restaurant

with lotsa empty Chianti bottles hanging from the rafters!

 

And yes... 15-20 mins. travel time to/from the ship is about right.

The beach looks nice, but there seem to be a lot of rocks and stones when you get in to the water, Correct?

We walked a short distance down the beach and there was a clearing.

First of all Beachbum1944 thanks very much for the wonderful photos.

You and APLMAC both give different names for the beach. We are thinking of heading there for the day in April-where should we ask the taxi to take us and are there taxis waiting to come bak or should we arrange with the driver when we go?:confused:

We were told Sunset Beach. I think the particular name of any beach there goes according to the name of restaurant, bar or resort on the site. Thus we were at the beach with Sunset Restaurant ( Sunset Beach).

 

APLMAC, correct me if I am wrong....It is in Holetown.
