Pre-booking spa

When I go to the Celebrity website, there are options to pre-book spa "packages".

I'm not really interested in 5 hours of treatments during my four day cruise.

Is it possible to just book a massage in advance? Or do you have to do that once on board?

In my view, you are much better to book only what you really want, once aboard.

For something that you just must have, book as soon as you can on day 1 (they can get booked up).

For something that you think might be interesting, wait for "sales" to appear in your daily what's on? sheet.

A rule of thumb is that a lot of offerings by onboard third parties (Spa, casino, photographers, shops, etc - even duty free sometimes) tend to drop in price as the cruise nears its end. They know you won't be handing over any cash at all once you get off the boat on the last day.

Often (I'm drifting off topic somewhat now!) folk complain about being a 'captive audience' while on board. True. But the vendors are captive suppliers, too! Make 'em an offer.

One last point about spas, I generally see my own local masseusse just before I leave on vacation. I get good treatment by someone I'm comfortable with, I know what she's going to do for me and I know what I'm going to pay her.

The spa packages on Celebrity's website are prepayments only. You still have to set up your day and time once you are on the ship.

Individual treatments are not available for prepayment - you have to book those on the ship.

Celebrity has daily spa specials - you can usually pick up some really good deals for times while the ship is in port.
