gkyagermom Posted February 5, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 5, 2008 Does anyone know what shops/restaurants/etc. are in the Tourism Village? Is it like the one in Jamaica...where there are paths, greenery, etc...or is it more of a "mall" type atmosphere? Thanks to all answers.
Rare shark&minnow Posted February 11, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 11, 2008 It's been a few years since I've been there so it may have improved since then. At that time it was more of a mall with some outdoor vendors too, but not a big modern mall....more like a dock front village, made for the cruise ships. I think we had a drink at an open air water front bar/restaurant. I also felt that I wouldn't want to walk out of that area...it was not a safe feeling area outside the shopping area. Rare mduffy1834 Posted February 11, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 11, 2008 it is much nicer that ocho rios. lots of open aired restaurants, little shops, some bigger jewelry shops, tour operators. we did a brewery/city tour from one of the operators at the pier. it turned out to be just my daugher and i and we had a blast. sat in the brewery tasting room for 45 minutes and had a ball with the tour operator (she did not do any tasting) and the bartender. tour included lunch on the pier - it was great!!!
