Dunns River Falls

Has anyone done the falls on their own - what is cab cost from ship? what is falls cost? Or is it better to take a ship sponsored trip?

We did the Falls on our own and it is much less expensive that doing a ship sponsored tour. We went with a company called JUTA tours. They run minibuses to and from the Falls and they are located at the end of the pier just as you exit. It was $5.50 pp round trip plus $10.00 entrance fee pp to the Falls.

 

Doing the Falls is a blast. I highly recommend not missing them.

Does he drop off and pickup? How long from dropoff to pickup?

Yes, they drop you off and tell you what time to meet back in the parking lot for the return trip. You just have to remember the number of your minibus. You will recognize people from your group and they tend to congregate together in the parking lot. I think it was about 2 hrs. from drop off to pickup. The timing was very good. I would say that we were back in the parking lot with about 20 minutes to spare.

JUTA is the goverment body that regulates the mini-bus/taxis. You want to make sure any taxi you get in has JUTA on it.

There is a jutatours - found it on google - but they did not spell out the timing on the Dunns River Falls trip!

There is probably no timing spelled out as they seem to operate more like a shuttle service. They keep running minivans back and forth from the dock to the Falls.

Just decide on a time with the JUTA driver - as to when you will meet in the parking lot. As mentioned earlier remember the mini-bus #. The falls are a great time! There is a beach at the bottom of the falls that you are welcome to use as well. Have fun!
