Visa for Au

Levart57 on this board mentioned the free visa. Well, thank you, I just did it today. Called United Airlines, gave them the passport number, etc., and all of it free.

Our TA was charging $20, the Au.Gov was $20AUS and how much the Princess charges I do not know - perhaps it is included in the air fare they quote.

Anyway, thankyou Levart - you just saved me some cash which I can now donate to the casino.

About three or four years ago the Australian Government came to an agreement with the U.S. government that citizens of both countries would not have to pay for visas when visiting for a short stay, - we used to have to go to the U.S. consulate and pay $40 for a visa to go into our passport.

I cannot understand why people are charging you $20 when that was abolished.

Jennie, you are so right. I don't know either and I don't understand why, before they go, people don't do a little research. There are plenty of people out there who can answer questions, like you, and not just on the CC boards.

Otherwise, thankyou for all your help on other subjects besides this one. I have learned a lot and am so looking forward to visiting Australia and N.Z.

Rosemary,

Thank you for your kind comments. We will be travelling to the U.S. next year for the first time, so I will be asking heaps of you all. I hope you have a wonderful trip to our beautiful country and enjoy every minute of your cruise.
