You will be extreamly lucky if this is still available by the time you get to the pier - most sailings are completly sold out weeks in advance.

 

In the event that this suite is still available and no one has pipped you to the post at the port, it will depend very much on what ship you are sailing on and the time of uyear. Your best off looking at the brocure price for the grand suite on the saling you have, and working out the difference between that and the price you have paid for your D1 as any rooms left for sale at the pier will be charged at what os liksted in the brochure...

There was a thread a week or two ago and you have to check in because then the upgrade would be from a different revenue area. And the pier coordinator can do all the new seapass card or whatever.

They're 2 entirely different cruises. Since 9/11, you will probably have to get off the ship or at least be escorted by staff to get a new sea pass card. Best guess is you would have to try to upgrade then. Odds are you would have to go back to your cabin you originally booked.

A suite for 4 would cost more than the two inside cabins. I dont know that you can downgrade at the last minute and receive a refund and I sure wouldnt do it without money back.

I would think you're right so would have to decide if it would be worth having to move - we have an Aft Corner Balcony (same cabin for both cruises) and the only reason would even consider upgrade would be for the 2 cruise credits - if we would upgrade both cruises that would give us 10 and a move to diamond. I looked into an upgrade this week and they want a total of 1700pp to upgrade to Jr Suite for both cruises - current price is around 3200pp (balcony not suite) for both cruises and since we booked 21 months out when they first came available we only paid 1750pp for both cruises. We made an unbelieveable deal so I wasn't suprised when the offer was soooo high. Susan

Susan , Personally, I would keep the corner aft. It would really depend on what cabin I could upgrade to, if any. If you could move from a D1 to a GS or OS for the first leg, it would be worth the $$.

Of course, the ship might be full and it won't make any difference.

 

What ship and what cruise are you booked on. That would make a difference, too. The corner aft might be best for that cruise as far as scenery on both sides of the ship. Location can be everything.

We have met the Pier Coordinator in Miami, Vancouver and several other ports. As Radio and Parrothead have said, they are in each port and have other responsibilities than just pier upgrades!!! :D
