Point Loma Cruiser Posted February 20, 2008 #1 Share Posted February 20, 2008  Party of six will be staying in London for three days before our Baltic cruise on the Jewel leaving 6/10. Any suggestions for getting to and from Dover pre and post cruise? Does NCL have any pick-up service at Heathrow? We booked our own flights but would be willing to get back to Heathrow if shuttle to ship is available. How do we find out about costs of cabs (and whether they'll hold six of us with our luggage). Also does anyone know about something called Dot2Dot shuttle service? It may only go from airport to central London. I've heard there's a train from London to Dover, but that probably wouldn't work for us -- we're all at that "bad-back, bum-knee, sore-shoulder" stage of life (although we are a great deal of fun once we get to where we're going!) and I'm not sure schlepping our bags is do-able! Your suggestions would be most appreciated. Thanks in advance! PLC
lhall85917 Posted February 20, 2008 #2 Share Posted February 20, 2008 You definitely need to check out the Ports of Call board for England, lots of good info there - http://boards.cruisecritic.com/forumdisplay.php?f=192. In fact, your question will probably get moved there! This site also has some very specific information: http://www.londontoolkit.com/travel/heathrow_dover.htm
garycarla Posted February 21, 2008 #3 Share Posted February 21, 2008 yep. go over to the PORTS OF CALL message boards. You might have to do 2 cabs/limos, but it will still be cheaper than NCL transfers.
