cheffip Posted March 2, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 2, 2008 We're on the Crown Princess April 26 - first time with Princess. We've ben using the Princess website to "reserve" shore excursions. When do we get charged and have to pay for these? With Celebrity as soon as you reserved a shore excursion there was a charge to our credit card. They will be on your shipboard acct and you pay for them at the end of the cruise. Now if you decide to cancel while on the ship you have 24 hrs to cancel without penalty. Just look at the Princess Patter(newspaper) and each day they say when the cut-off is for cancelling any excursions. By the way your tickets will be in your cabin when you embark. marilyn

Pam in CA Posted March 2, 2008 #4 Share Posted March 2, 2008 Unlike some other cruiselines, when you book your shore excursions pre-cruise, you are reserving them, not paying for them. They will be charged to your onboard account after you check in and the tickets, which will have all of the time and meeting place information, will either be in your cabin when you board or delivered shortly afterwards. You can cancel the excursions at any time up to 24 - 48 hours before the excursion. Be sure to read the Princess Patter every night because the port and the cancellation day and time are listed in the Patter. The above poster said 24 hours but that's not necessarily true -- it's often earlier than 24 hours so read the Patter. All you have to do to cancel is to drop off your tickets into the bin in front of the Shore Excursion Desk. It doesn't have to be open or Shore people there to cancel. Your onboard account will be credited. Be sure to double-check your onboard account a day or so later to make sure the credit is there.
Princess Chatterer Posted March 2, 2008 #5 Share Posted March 2, 2008 If Princess cancels the excursion, typically due to weather, they will automatically reverse your charge on your shipboard account. If you forget to book an excursion you can show up the morning of the excursion at the on-board gathering point and can possibly go on the excursion if the excursion has no-shows.
