Internet cafes at ports

Have you used the internet cafes at the ports (we are taking an Eastern Carribb. cruise)? How would you compare these to the one onboard? I think they are less expensive?? Are they easily accessible and a fairly fast connection? Thanks!

usually cheaper and most often faster.

 

Just ask some of the crew members where they go - many restaurants near the port have free access. I can think of Starbucks in San Juan and the Greenhouse cafe in St Maarten. The one I used to go to in St Thomas moved to ???

 

Usually the musicians are good sources for this info

As sf2 replied, just ask a crew member where to go. I have found that crew members are a good source for information on the different ports. Yes they are cheaper and faster.

I used them in Alaska. Much, much, much, much cheaper and quite a bit faster as well. I think it was something like a $5 card good for an hour of use.
