Jolly Roger Excursion - What Beach Is That?

2 years ago in barbados we did the jolly roger excursion. they took us to a beach that the sand was like silk and you could see your feet standing in 6 feet of whater. does anyone know what beach that was??? it was awesome. so last year i asked around and the cab driver directed us to monkey beach. that was the worst beach i have been to. first of all, it was so crowded you couldn't move. the weather looked like rain so we paid the cab driver instead of paying in full on the return trip in case we didn't want to wait until 1 pm. so when we went to leave the dispatcher at the blue monkey started a big fight with us and wouldn't let us leave. i asked another dispatcher to call the cops because he was getting out of hand. finally another driver said i believe you paid and took us out of there. the beach was nothing - i repeat - nothing like the beach where the jolly roger takes you. if i get across nothing else - stay away from that tourist trap - monkey beach. so does anyone know what beach that is that the jolly roger takes you to???? help!!!!!!

The used to stop at Paynes Bay, which is the same beach that has the Blue Monkey Bar on it.. (and it's really too bad it's there .. it really wrecks the beach.. )

Usually their stop depends on the weather and water.. that will determaine if it's going to be flat or not.. There are several beaches on the west coast where these boats usually make their day stops.. but it does vary.

You say your trip was two years ago, and things may have changed since then

but the truth is that just about any West Coast bay/beach in Barbados

has water clarity conditions like those you describe (once it's calm!)

- so it could have been almost anywhere?

Recently Harbour Master (Jolly Roger's other boat)

has been stopping at "St.Alban's Bay" (which more correctly is Reid's Bay)

- referred to as St.Alban's because of the church at the Southern end of the bay,by that name

but they change the stop from time to time, as needs be.

These pix were taken there...

From what I can see on their website....it is dry docked until 2009.

I was really hoping to do this for my anniversary in July. ===> Not gonna happen, sorry.

Jolly Roger was on dry dock in St.Vincent -October 2007

and was then sold to a concern in nearby Trinidad.

It is to be replaced late this year-going-in-to next year,

by a brand new fiberglass,purpose-built boat - made in Maine.

In the interim,

the same coastal cruises company can take you on either Tiami catamaran cruises

or the more spacious and comfortable Harbour Master(which I prefer).

You'll have just as much fun!

Sorry about that.

Is the harbor master running more than 2 times a week now?
Not sure of frequency

but I should imagine that now it's Tourist Season (until Apr.15th.)

it should be running several times a week.

I mean, they're there to make money

and when capacity calls, they'll oblige paying customers with a cruise.

Supply and Demand and all that!

I don't think they'd want to run a near-empty cruise.

Sorry I can't be more specific than that.
