Tendered port?

Recommended Posts

A tendered port is a port where you aren't actually docked at a pier. So you get to shore using a tender which ferries the pasengers back and forth to the ship. Grand Cayman is a tender port at their is no pier there. Coco Cay and Labadee also don't have piers so you have to tender there as well. There are many other examples of tender ports.

Unfortunately, the slightest bit of bad weather can wreak havoc with the tenders and so these ports can be missed if it is unsafe for the tenders to operate.

Hi...welcome! :)

Depending on the port, you may need tender tickets for getting off the ship to port. You won't need them to return to the ship. The tender tickets will vary and will be announced per port. Its a very easy process.

Some of the tenders will hold up to 150 people, so it usually goes quickly. ;)

Thanks for sharing your pictures with me. That clears things up a lot. I thought I had to pay to get off the ship or something!
