TBatt30 Posted March 24, 2008 #1 Share Posted March 24, 2008 Help! My parents are taking a European cruise w/ RCI leaving this weekend, well maybe! My mother has MS and is in a wheelchair. They reserved a handicapped cabin and even was assigned a cabin. When they received their paperwork last week, someone upgraded them. However, not to another handicapped cabin. She needs a handicapped cabin. She has called her travel agent (a large agency) numerous times only to be given a run around. Today, they called to say a manager was working on it diligently but had no answer. They would not let her speak to the manager even though she requested. She has e-mailed RCI about the problem and has had no response. Can anyone help us? What should she do? __________________

What should she do?__________________ I wouldn't rely on e.mail in a situation like this. Perhaps you can CALL RCI's special services department-- my TA gave me this tel no. (800) 242-6374. We had to place a "do not upgrade" request on the three cabins we booked for our upcoming cruise. The last thing I needed was my children's (or MIL's) inside cabins being changed to an ocean-view or balcony on another deck:eek:.
Splinter Posted March 25, 2008 #3 Share Posted March 25, 2008 I agree. Call the cruise line. Also let the TA know that you will be holding them financially responsible for any loss you experience because they accepted an upgrade without checking with you or making sure it was an accessible cabin. Next time, find another TA!!
