Steveok Posted October 3, 2004 #26 Share Posted October 3, 2004 Maybe, this winter, after the Sox are World Champs 2004 we can watch the Rangers and the Bruins?? Oh , never mind.
Tmmull Posted October 4, 2004 #27 Share Posted October 4, 2004 BxSoFtBaLLcHiCk, Yes, I can say "Clinched", as in the Red Sox clinched the wild card. (As of this morning's paper, they're only 2 games behind the arrogant Yankees.) So why should they cry? Also, the Red Sox, and their fans, don't cry. We sigh and say maybe next year. Hey, if the Sox choking upset us so much, we'd all commit suicide! Now, if you want to hear crying, have the Yankees lose. (yes, it does happen, see this weekends scores with "last place" Toronto) So remember to proof read before you post, HaHaHa.
Dean T. Posted October 4, 2004 #28 Share Posted October 4, 2004 ok now nothing for nothing, yes im a huge yankee fan but all i can say is this post was started by someone that innocently asked if the yankees playoff games were gonna be seen onboard and some sore-ass redsux fan with no class had to start crap by saying yankees suck. now you tell me who the real ***** fans are. go yankees

49holding Posted October 4, 2004 #30 Share Posted October 4, 2004 We were on the enchantment of the seas last Oct 9th to the 13th...the heart of the Yankee/Red Sox playoffs and to my family's delight they had all those playoff games. They showed them in the casino bars TV and also in the stateroom TV's. It was a spanish ESPN ( the games were in english). I had the dolphin swim booked for 4p and my two teens didn't want to do it and miss the afternoon game, but luckily we were able to switch that day to an earlier swim, the yankees won that game, so all was well. buddy lee Posted October 4, 2004 #36 Share Posted October 4, 2004 I truly feel sory for all of you pitiful Red Sox fans out there. Always coming in as the bridesmaid and never the bride! Just think about it, what would you all do if your beloved Sawx actually won? You guys have rooted for losers for so long that you would be lost without complaining and crying in your beers. You Sawx fans would lose your entire persona and I believe that deep down, you all secretly hope for them to lose so you can all hang onto that. As for those who believe that the Yanks are the best team that money can buy, well tell me that Shill and Ramirez along with the rest weren't "bought" for one reason, to beat the Yanks. At least the Yanks buy to win the Worls Series. Just think, if the Red Sox weren't cheaper than the Yanks, they could have had A-Rod. On a final note, I would just like to leave you with these three words: Babe, Bucky and Boone!

Hey, the Yanks are a dam good ball club, The best money can buy! Can't we all just get along, root for our teams and enjoy? Oh thats right, and refresh my memory....the Sox as a team plays for free right? I cant stand when people say "oh yea they buy thier rings...." I do believe it was a few years ago when Baltimore was the highest paid club in the league and they finished dead last! Being a good team just IS or ISNT and guess what....the SOX just ARENT! GO YANKS!!!! Santana who's YOUR daddy, oops thats Pedro!
AltaJoe Posted October 4, 2004 #39 Share Posted October 4, 2004 Just how many of the Sox weren't bought? 1, maybe 2? If they do win it all (the end of the world as we know it) they will truly have bought a Championship.

MrGoofy Posted October 5, 2004 #43 Share Posted October 5, 2004 Interesting thread. It's so EASY to be a Spankees fan, isn't it! Lest we forget, anything can happen and does!:D What a beautiful day it was!!!! 22-0 According to the Barnhardt Dictionary of Etymology the word Yankee was a term of contempt. Isn't that great? The Yankees named themselves after an insult! GO REDSOX!!!

Tmmull Posted October 5, 2004 #45 Share Posted October 5, 2004 The reason I stated they have the best team money can buy is because they spend more money than any other team! It's easier to win if you can afford the best players. Here's a link to last years salaries. http://baseball.simcentral.net/index/Articles/MLB/1068444000.shtml The Yankees spent 150 million dollars!!! That looks like approximately twice the average.(no I didn't waste the time to do the math, It's just a quick guess)
Tmmull Posted October 5, 2004 #46 Share Posted October 5, 2004 Kristen, I never said any professional sports player played for free. My comment was that the Yankees have the highest payroll, IE. the highest paid players. As for "buying their rings" ,I never even hinted at that! You seam to have missed the part where I stated that the "Yanks are a dam good ball club". These players EARN the rings! It's the management who buys the best players. Tmmull Posted October 5, 2004 #47 Share Posted October 5, 2004 BxSoFtBaLLcHiCk, sounds like your making excuses when none are needed. My point was that every team, even the Yankees lose. Their good, maybe even the best, but they all have slumps. My main point to you was that even though the Yankees have clinched the division, The sox aren't out! (which you implied with your "crying comment")
msweezie99 Posted October 6, 2004 #48 Share Posted October 6, 2004 Well this Boston chick isn't crying, Sox beat the Angels 9 to 3, and the Yankees are currently losing, 2 to 0, ohhhhhhhhhhhhhh, so who's cryin' now??
carf525 Posted October 6, 2004 #49 Share Posted October 6, 2004 OK guys the yanks have lost more first games of series then they have won...yet, have won 4 championships, in the series 3 out of 4 yrs...let this thing play out...and far as you sox fan goes..its as simple as this...no matter how many times you watch the same movie, it always ends the same, ....YO Pedro..." Who's your Daddy"....
Sonshiner Posted October 6, 2004 #50 Share Posted October 6, 2004 Hey, Vikeqn! Who needs the highest payrolled team in the league when you can get the job done with a team that has great pitching and a strong defense? The Yanks remind me of Bill Gates and Microsoft - If you can't beat 'em, buy 'em. Bring it home Twins!
