turtles & beach!!

My dh and I are very excited to go and snorkel with the turtles. If we do the excursion through Carnival, is there the opportunity to go to a beach after? We have heard wonderful things about the pink sand beaches!

Just to add to the previous question, we are thinking of doing the Tiami excursion with the turtles. Does anyone know if a pink sand beach could be had afterwards?

The pink sand is mostly on the South and South-East coasts of the island

and shows best at low tide.

but the pink sand can also be seen at Accra...

but both of these locations are on either S. or S.E.coasts!

 

-and your turtle locations are over on the West coast

where the sand tends to be more white or golden in colour.

Your best bet is to jump in a cab,after the turtle thing

and zoom over to Accra

(Accra's not too far from the Port - Crane is waaay over the other side)

We just did a turtle swim with Thriller Ocean Tours last week, and the last stop was at a pink sand beach. The tour was about 3.5 hours. We had 3 snorkeling stops: with the turtles, at a coral reef, and at some shipwrecks. Then they dropped us off at the beach for about 45 minutes. I'm not sure the name of the beach (maybe Carlisle Bay Beach?), but it was fairly close to downtown, and it definitely had pink sand.

 

We saw about a dozen other companies offering similar tours, but we had a great day and were very happy with our choice. First, they had excellent service, offered free snorkeling gear, and plenty of drinks and snacks. Second, they were the only ones with a powerboat. This was a fun ride, and it got us to our destinations quickly, so we can spend more time in the water. And third, the boat only holds about 15 people, so it's not crowded. We saw the Tiami catamaran with 50+ passengers on board, and we were glad that we weren't part of that crowd.
