39august Posted September 30, 2004 #1 Share Posted September 30, 2004 Now that RCI and X are extending the same level benifits for Captain's Club and Crown & Anchor, I am interested in whether CC gives discounts for balconies and suites as RCI does. As a Platinum member I get an automatic $100 pp off a balcony cabin for a 9+ day cruise and $50 pp for a 7 day. Does the CC also offer this benefit for Select members? (I think that is the same level as Platinum..5 or more cruises up to 10). I've been wanting to try Celebrity and probably will on a round trip Hawaii cruise in 2006. CaribbeanBound Posted October 1, 2004 #3 Share Posted October 1, 2004 However... For select sailings, they send coupons out haphazardly - but about every 4 months or so in a not so quarterly newsletter for CC members. Note that you cannot use the coupon after you have booked however. (I know a few folks got them honored anyway, but that is not the norm or the official policy). Acceptance of these coupons used to be the norm and official policy for a number of years because the coupons in the past years have been for bookings before a certain date instead of bookings between two dates and just needed to be presented before final payment. We ended up overnighting one because the newsletter was delivered 2 days before final payment and figured it was worth the $15 - $20 overnight fee to save $150. Glendakayself Posted October 1, 2004 #5 Share Posted October 1, 2004 Our coupons arrived after booking and after paying in full last spring for a September cruise. We did not book within the time frame, but filled in the coupon and mailed it in anyway. The next month's charge bill had a credit for the full coupon amount. CaribbeanBound Posted October 1, 2004 #6 Share Posted October 1, 2004 That is a good approach. Worked for us too.
