Bob NC Posted April 7, 2008 #1 Share Posted April 7, 2008 Just got off the Legend on Sun 4/6. When we got on I had one suitcase with 2 cases of Bud Light Cans, one suitcase with 2-1/2 cases of Bud Light cans. Scattered among other suitcases were 2 gallons of premix Margarita in Rum Runner flasks, 2 - 1.75L plastic bottles of Pina Colada and 1 - 1.75L plastic bottle of Long Island Ice Tea. Everything made it to the room.

FrogCWR Posted April 7, 2008 #3 Share Posted April 7, 2008 How many people did u share this with. You were too pickled to enjoy your cruise if there werent a lot to share with. Nah... I tore through a bottle of Absolut, one of the large bottles of Malibu, and a bottle of Captain Morgan Silver this past week. In addition to that, there were several drinks purchased on board, 7 glasses of white zin at the Past Guest party, 5 or 6 whiskey sours at the captain's party, and many many many glasses of wine on the Wine Country Tour in Ensenada. I may have been pickled, but I enjoyed every minute of the cruise up until I was forced kicking and screaming from the boat when we returned to San Diego. :D

We're thinking about what to bring on our upcoming cruise. And for the record, that doesn't sound like too much alcohol - sounds just right ;)

I call BS here. 1) did you take clothes? 2) if so how many suitcases did you have? 3) you must have driven cause you'd have paid for another cruise in extra baggage fees on a plane. 4) you didn't mention taking a cooler for the beer?? 5) you had to be drinking 24-

Perhaps he was in a larger group. The beer he brought, he said total 4.5 cases, are they 12 in a case? if so that is 54 beers and if there were 8 in his group ( like mine) that would be 6.75 beers each person divided by 7 day cruise is less than one beer a day per person. Possibly, but a case alludes to 24 cans, if in fact he meant 12 packs then it lends less credibility to his story. As all of us real drinkers know a case is 24. He does say WE, so that leaves a bit to the interpretation as to how many we are. Let's look at it the other way 24x4.5 equal 108 beers, divided by 2 people makes it 54 a piece or basically 8 a day for a 7 day cruise. easy there, but throw in a gallon of margarita a person, 1.75 liters of pina colada a person, basically a liter of long islands a person....WOW. caribbean dreams Posted April 7, 2008 #12 Share Posted April 7, 2008 Te booze usually makes it to your cabin safe & sound, it's the people who think they can just put it in their carry on that are the ones getting it taken away. In San Diego I watched in horror as bottles of JD & Grey Goose were being dumped down the drain.

One other person followed this strategy also. 4) Used the fridge, though mine didnt work very well so I filled the trash can with beer and kept it stocked with ice. 5) Not really...... YoungCruisererz Posted April 8, 2008 #16 Share Posted April 8, 2008 Hi, did you lock your checked luggage? Did you use zip ties or tsa locks? I plan on bringing about 3 bottles of hard booze and I'm not sure if and how I should lock them.
salty dingo Posted April 8, 2008 #17 Share Posted April 8, 2008 The alcohol policy sometimes is not so strict. I know in San Juan, there is a liquor store right at the end of the gangway. The ship did not leave until 10 PM, so during the evening we kept getting off, going to the liquor store, and bringing on more liquor. No one at security said anything about it. This was several years ago.
