BTB question ??

Has anyone ever done a backtoback in the same room on the same ship? I'm thinking about doing this on my up coming cruise. Trisha

Not yet, we are booked B2B on the Destiny in the same room in October. It is possible. I think most of the folks on our group cruise are booked in the same cabin on both legs.

Yep, our first B2B last year was on the Valor and we had the same room. It was awesome! LOVED not having to pack everything up the last night. You just leave everything where it is, but you'll want to let your cabin steward know you're staying on. There was a thread on here recently where someone's room steward started throwing things away!

Did you have to leave the ship? When did you get the second S&S card?

B2B's are wonderful....when everyone is sad the last night of the cruise cause it's almost over, you can be excited that you're staying on. We did a B2B2B on the Fascination last year and we leave a week from tomorrow for a B2B on the Imagination. Both times we booked guarantee cabins and both times we were upgraded plus we got to keep the same cabin for all cruises

I think it's easier to keep the same cabin...

This,I think varies from ship to ship........

All of the BTBs I have done,, got off the ship......

When I was on the HOILDAY a staff walked off with me, I did my paper work and I was walked back

onto the ship...

When I did the CELEBRATION & Fantasy,,,,,

I was the last to get off the ship........

Did my paper work,I had to wait off the

ship in the V.I.P lounge...

I was one of the first to get back on...

Yes,,let your steward know that you are staying on

for the next cruise........

You get your S&S card when you do your paper

work,,,,,You get one the first week,,,,,,,then

second one the next cruise..........

Yes, you have to leave the ship - you usually gather in the lobby at a pre-determined time, then someone from the purser's desk will walk you off the ship, and out through immigration. You'll then turn around and get right back on the ship. You'll get your sign and sail cards then, but you may have to wait a bit to get it activated. We had to wait a few hours on our last one, as the computer systems weren't ready for the credit card info quite yet. No biggie - we went and enjoyed the sun until noon.

And while back-to-backs are wonderful, I would NEVER recommend one where you have to change rooms. We did that in March on the Imagination, and let's just say it was a bit of a goat rope to get our baggage to the next room...

We did a B2B on the Freedom in the Med last year and our experience was a little different since it was out of the country. We got our S&S cards the night before and were told whenever we got off the ship to use the old cards and when we came back on to use the new ones. We were never told we had to leave the ship at all but we did to walk around Civitavecchia. It was very easy and we did have the same cabin for both cruises. We didn't have to do the muster drill again but had to stay in the cabin. Some people say they have gotten strawberries or wine or something because they did a B2B but we didn't get anything extra. It was great and we would do another one.

Hi! We will be on our first Back 2 Back on the Liberty June 7th-21st! We are so looking forward to it! Talked with some that have been on the Liberty for Back 2 Backs recently and they did not have to get off the ship, just walked out the door, got new sail and sign card and right back in. THey got to explore the whole ship, even places that you can't ususally go. I am looking forward to looking at lot's of the other cabins! It is going to be great not having to pack and leave when everyone else is! Imagine we can get to know the crew, the cruise director and maybe even the captain better with 2 weeks! Have a great day!

Pam

:D From - http://www.urbandictionary.com/define.php?term=Goat+Rope

-goat rope--definition--A very confused situation

-To teach new cowboys the art of roping a moving target, such as a horse or a steer, novices would be put in a pen full of goats, which were smaller and less dangerous, to hone their craft. The old-timers would gather to watch, drink, whoop and be amused by the ensuing melee. It was not a pretty sight.

Just figured it was the most, um, polite way to describe the situation...;)

Well, I'll be doing a B2B2B, unfortunately changing cabins after the first B but having the same cabin for the rest. I may see if I can bribe the steward for the 2nd and 3rd Bs to store my luggage after until the goats are BBQ'd.

Do you let the pursers desk know you are doing a b2b and they then let you know what their procedure is ? Since some ship make you debark and some let you stay on board. Also are there usually many people doing it too!!

I went ahead and booked it last night, so am now full of ?'s. This is the first b2b and I am so excited.

We are thinking of booking a BTB for January on the Freedom. We've never booked BTB before and have never booked "run of the house". I'm assuming "run of the house" and "guaranteed" are the same. My question is....are you guaranteed to have the same room for both legs? I really don't want to be changing rooms mid-cruise.

Thanks.:)

They will know you are doing B2B, but you can drop by mid way through the cruise and double check with them. A note will be place in your room letting you know where to go and when. If you are sailing from a US port you will have to get off the ship for about 20-45 mins.

How many B2B's just depends on the cruise, normally there are a few doing it.

There is no guarantee that you will have to same cabin, If you want the same you should book a specific cabin, you run the risk of having cabins on different decks. Not sure where you got the term "run of the house" Carnival doesnt use that terminology.

They know,,,,,,,,I always tell them.........

The last night of the first cruise you

will receive a letter,,telling you

about debark,,,meeting at the purser's desk

or somewhere on the ship..............

Thanks for the info.

We've talked to 2 travel agents. One used the term "guaranteed" -- she deals almost exclusively in cruises. The other used "run of the house" -- she is generalist.

We did a B2B on the Valor in the same cabins. Would absolutely recommend it! They sent us a letter telling us when and where to meet for disembarkation and embarkation. We received a very nice fruit and gift basket in our cabins. We met in a small room near the dining room and were given pastries and juices, coffee, etc. The purser completed our paperwork and gave us our "new" keys and then escorted us off the sip, thru the luggage are and back onto the ship. We were also invivted to a special reception with the ship's captain. For that day we had the whole ship to ourselves for quite a bit of time. Very relaxing.

OK now I am getting goose bumps. I am so excitied. We are started our much anticipated back to back in just 16 days on the Glory. We booked over a years out so it has been a long wait. We have the same cabin for both cruises and are also looking forward to checking out a variety of cabins during the down time. That day will be our anniversary so we want to make it special. Any ideas???

the way to go. On our B2B on the Valor, we recieved a letter the night before telling us to meet in the library at a certain time and containing our new S&S cards. They had coffee, juice, rolls, and pastries for us, then walked us off the ship to a bored immigration guy who barley glanced at our passports (he clearly thought it was as stupid a requirement as we did) then right back on to the ship. We went back to our room to put our passports away, and there was a plate of chocolate dipped strawberries and a nice note from the Captain on our desk.

One of the most fun parts was seeing the faces of staff members we befriended the first cruise the first time we ran into them the second week.

Hint: If you purchase liquor during the first cruise it will be delivered to your room the last night of that cruise. Or, if you purchase it the last day, they will let you take it back to your room with you right then, all nice and legal. Just sayin'...

Love all the info on the B2B. We are doing our 1st B2B on the Freedom in Nov/Dec. 6day followed by an 8-day. We have the same cabin.

Would love info on how Carnival Freedom handles the B2B process. We are Vip. This will be our 12th & 13th cruise
