Wine Tastings/Cocktail Making seminars

I've noticed on some daily compasses there will ocassionally be a "great wine tasting", or a "superb wine tasting", or a " you can't pass this up" wine tasting, for various prices. There are also an occasional martini or other cocktail making seminar available. Other then the price, is there much difference in the tastings available? And how hands on are the cocktail making seminars?

I only have experience with the C&A tasting. It was fun, but I'm not sure what it usually costs. It was also really crowded. They served standard wines, all of which you could taste in Vintages I imagine.

Martini making/tasting sessions vary in price. There are Margarita sessions, too, sometimes.
