Is there something wrong with my DW???

My DW just informed me that she is not bying any new clothes for our upcoming cruise. Is the something wrong with her that I should worry about???

No, I'm sure she does what every good woman does, and booked another cruise to show you how cost effective it is as there is no investment in her wardrobe. So therefore, two cruises in one year actually saves you money. If you go every other year, you have to update that wardrobe.

Just believe her. I see you have several months before your cruise and remember she'll probably change her mind just as many days before she really decides. See if she knows like I know, if she shops now everything is overpriced because we're entering into the new clothesline for summer wear. If she waits until the end of the season she will be able to get some really good deals.

My DW said the same! Yesterday she went "Grocery" shopping. BUT she didn't buy any FOOD, just bags of clothes ! Her explanation was that they were for "Work", but she might bring them on the cruise "just incase"!

Its only been one day and my DW informed me that not buying any new clothes for the upcoming cruise is not excactly what she meant. She says what she meant was not any new Formal Wear. I guess she only has 5 days to buy for instead of 7.

I don't know your wife, however, if I am the one making that statement, my DH would be wise to read between the lines. "No new clothes for this cruise" really means, in 5 months, who knows how much weight I will/or won't lose, whether the current pink/green trend will continue, and does a lady over 30 really want to jump on the 'bow' bandwagon? A lot can happen in 5 months

1. Wife has re-booked you on a nude cruise

2. DW wants you to buy her jewelry

Just be careful, she may be lulling you into a false sense of security. You will believe her after a while and then when you least expect it BOOM!!!!!! Her answer will be "But, I haven't bought anything for the cruise yet" and will disavow any knowledge to her statement of not buying anything new for the trip.

It's a switch and bait tactic. She is going light using enough old stuff to get her to the first Port where she will go on a duty free shopping spree including another suitcase to bring it all back home in. There's nothing wrong with her, she just outfoxed the fox!

The only way to prevent this is for you to max out all the credit cards right before you go.

I would have to agree that the idea is to wait closer to cruise time so that an exact measurement can be made. If she is like me and my DW, we are both on crash diets from here till May 31 so we will look good in our speedos. So we too are waiting to go crazy shopping! (so thats the plan, anyway)

psych & erin_cruisers - Thanks for much for the comments on my site. It was important to me to put something out there that was through a newbies eyes vs. the cruise experts who forget what a first cruise is like.

 

Psych, it probably took me a week off and on to get the bulk of it out. I spend a couple of hours after a cruise or when I find new links doing updates.
