TeachinNV Posted June 29, 2008 #103 Share Posted June 29, 2008 Great pictures, everyone. I like mine because I don't often get a picture of the ship when I'm on shore...I always seem to forget. I hope this comes out...it has taken me forever to figure out how to resize my photos.
Cruise Passenger Posted June 29, 2008 #104 Share Posted June 29, 2008 ½ sec. Long exposures can be fun. Here's one on the Inside Passage taken at 13 sec. - f/4 - ISO200 (Bright glare is the moon.) Here's a handheld ½ sec. shot of the jogging track on the Mercury just before sunrise. Photography is fun! Dave It looks as if a face is looking at you from the clouds. It kind of looks like MR. Bill from Saturday Night Live.
snc421 Posted June 30, 2008 #105 Share Posted June 30, 2008 My cool lighting effect shot is not of my ship, but rather of the Sunshine Skyway right before we went under it... just shy of 2 full hours before sunset. This effect is similar to the OP's picture, so that's why I wanted to include it in this thread. Besides, the Skyway is a significant part of a cruise out of Tampa; important to many of us I believe! snc421 Posted June 30, 2008 #106 Share Posted June 30, 2008 Here's something unique.... The above photo was taken 170 miles off the coast of Sarasota, Florida about 6:30 PM (guesstimate) on Saturday, May 10. (Last sea day aboard the Legend.) I felt the ship lean and an announcement was made that in accordance with Maritime Law, we were circling back to check on an 'abandoned ship.' Imagine my surprise when we came upon this! I was thinking like a sailboat or small yacht... this seems like something I'd describe as a refugee raft! And this far north?!? I'm just glad it was on my side of the ship as I was in my room and was able to see it from my balcony... After experiencing this, I am not at all worried about anything Titanic like happening ever again! For them to see this was incredible! Here's a pic of our wake as we were circling...
