Wine Costs Onboard

Hi!

We are headed down under on Celebrity in February 2009. :D Just checking to see what the cruise lines are charging for Aus and NZ bottles of wine on board for dinner, etc (not Duty Free shopping).:p

Hi - We were on the Millenium last year.

 

The only Aussie wine they had was a Rosemount Shiraz. I think it ran about $26.00 US.

 

No NZ wines on the list, unfortunately.

Remember that you can board with 2 bottles of wine (we did it in our carry-on and each took two bottles). There is a Wine Store about 2 blocks from the ship with a good selection. Enjoy!

Is that wine store in Sydney or Auckland. We are on the Millineum in November, 2008 and board the ship in Auckland.

Well, I was talking about Sydney, but....winos that we are -- there are several within a few blocks of the ship in Auckland as well. Just ask anyone in any store in the harbor area. We bought in a little grocery type store on a side street about 3 blocks from where you turn into the ship. And we passed several stores within a few minutes of the dock while walking around Auckland, if you don't mind carrying.

Yes, thanks for the info. ;) We would like to try some of the more local wines--not just the standard imports to the USA. Guess because of contractual requirements, there might not be very many local wines onboard and at a good price. Guess we will be humping some to the ship---off to the gym for some upper body work! :p
