basically we were told by our CD on the ship that these two are pretty much the same type tour....

he said if one sells out, to book the other and it'll be the same....just alittle bit different boat....

we took the tortuguero canal tour....boats fit about 40 people in them...1 person to steer the boat and 1 to be a visual guide, who pointed out many things such as lizards, sloths, monkeys and crocodiles ....alot of this we would have missed seeing without his expertise....

when they spotted something, they would turn the boat around or back up to let everyone get pictures and a good look....

we also were treated to a tropical buffet of pineapple, bananas, coconut and watermelon....also free pop and coffee samples.....small shop for souvenirs and coffee beans too....

well worth the price!!!! :)

Has anyone taken this tour lately. We are going in Jan. and are trying to find something for the whole family.

We took the Torguero Canal trip in may of 2006 so it is not recent but it was one of the best excursions we took. I think the whole family would enjoy it. Saw lots of monkeys, all kinds of birds, sloths, alligators, etc. I doubt very much tht canal trip has changed that much from 2006. also we were driven by a banana plantation which was very interesting. i would highly recommend this tour. by the way it was by the ship excursions and it was on Princess.
