I am going on the Spirit Oct 11 one nighter and was thinking of booking the 6 day to New England Oct 12, how does it work with a back to back, I would be changing rooms, do I get off the ship and do the registration again?? Thank you for your help

To start, I would suggest that if you already have the one nighter booked that you check online to see if the same cabin is still available for the 6 day itinerary - then call whomever you booked with for pricing & booking.

If the cabin is not available you will probably have to move, but they do try to be very accommodating

You will have to register again, however, you do not have to go through the line up with other passengers for the Oct 12th sailing. A crew member will escort you through the sign out and sign back in and you can return to your room - the time we did the B2B it was fairly quick and painless - no lines and the whole process took approximately one half hour.

We would be changing cabins, we want to book a balcony, right now we have an inside because it was a gift for my daughter and friend, they have to return to college, my and hubby want to extend. But it still sounds very doable. thank you again

The cost to move from the inside to a balcony for one day would not be that much, especially when you factor in the whole pack move unpack hassle. We did the one night followed by 6 night. What is nice is that when you get back into NYC, you can get off the ship and walk about 10 blocks and be right in Times Square. Of just walk a few blocks and have a nice lunch or drink at a street cafe. Then walk back to ship and skip the lines since you are already registered and have a card.

Nice deal.

I was going to book the Pearl on Oct 10 for 2 nights together with Oct 12 for 7 nights and NCL told me that I cannot do them as back to back which means I will have to get off and back on when everone else boards. SO i am just going to do the 12th cruise.

Well, that's weird - I think they may have meant you cannot consider them as 2 sailings maybe? I'd be making them explain why not and if you don't get a satisfactory answer ask to speak to a supervisor. No reason that I can think of why you shouldn't be able to.

If you booked through a third party that may be the reason. We have the same situation. Booked one cruise on the Jade through an internet agency and then decided to book the cruise right before it. Since we used an internet agency NCL won't do it for us and there is a sunstantial change fee involved if we ask our ITA to do it for us. SO...we will take our chances. NCL did say that once we are on the ship they can make arrangements for a place for our luggage for the second cruise, etc. and we will not have to go through the whole check-in process again. Actually, we want to do an excusion that day and just come back to the ship before sail-away and NCL said it should be no problem if we arrange with the ship in advance. The packing and unpacking may not be "ideal", but they said we could probably just move our luggage to the new cabin and go ahead and use the safe, etc. and just unpack later. No biggie deal for us.
