Greetings,

Have appreciated all the info on this board. We were wondering if early morning serve yourself coffee is available early in the lounge? We love to get a leisurely (and we hope good) cup before getting ready for the day and before breakfast. We will be on the Danube Discovery (Amacello) in early Sept.--would love feedback on the availablity and if u can serve yourself quickly (without breakfast lines etc.) Many thanks.

We love our java,

Robyn France

We were on the AmaDagio and I found that the coffee was not only available 24 hrs/day, it was actually pretty good. Assuming the same or similar unit is on the Amacello, you should be able to satisfy your thirst easily.

There is an excellent Do it yourself coffee maker in the lounge and a table full of creamers, sugar, tea bags, etc. One thing, though, they only have a saccharin tablet type artificial sweetner, so if you use Sweet n low or splenda or equal, bring your own.

The Amacello has a professional grade Nespresso automatic espresso machine in the lounge that can make espresso, cappuccino, and americano, with a selection of ten or twelve different types of coffee capsules, including (ugh) decaf. You operate it yourself by popping in the capsule and pressing the right buttons. It's available 24/7, although it jammed a time or two and had to be cleared by a crew member. I got out about 6AM to take photographs in the morning light and generally met the executive chef there making some morning coffee for himself. They put out pastries at about the same time if you want an early bite to go with your coffee, and put out a pot of regular drip coffee a bit later.

As far as I'm concerned, that machine was worth a couple of hundred bucks of the ticket price...
