TakeMeAway1001 Posted June 8, 2008 #3 Share Posted June 8, 2008 What did you do in Roatan? How come you only spent 10 minutes off the ship in Freeport? I have read you have to venture outside of the port if you want anything worth doing. We are heading there in October and hope it ends up being fun :)
swscruiser Posted June 8, 2008 Author #4 Share Posted June 8, 2008 We did the discover Roatan. It was very informative and well done. We did this from the ship. I think the only thing I would do different is to do the monkeys also. The ships video looked like they were having a lot fun. Freeport. There is not a lot to do on Freeport. The Last tour we did there they should us where the new McDonalds and KFC were. We are not really beach people, and some of the stores were closed because of a Holiday. Melvillean Posted June 9, 2008 #6 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Cabin 1026 Panarama Deck Port side Forward. Keith We have this room booked for January. Can you describe it a bit more? Will it be comfortable for two adults and a small child? Was it quiet? Did you happen to try to get a wireless connection in it? Any pics? Thanks! swscruiser Posted June 9, 2008 Author #8 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Do you have hair dryers in the room? Yes. Its in the top drawer to the right of the desk stool. Very small probably would not be of much use if you had long thick hair. I don't have that problem.:D Keith
swscruiser Posted June 9, 2008 Author #9 Share Posted June 9, 2008 We have this room booked for January. Can you describe it a bit more? Will it be comfortable for two adults and a small child? Was it quiet? Did you happen to try to get a wireless connection in it? Any pics? Thanks! Sorry no pics. Room was very quiet. I would think it would be comfortable for 2 A and 1 C. It is set up like most cabins: Closets are on the right when you walk in. Bathroom is on the left. Then as you continue into the room the desk TV and fridge are on the left. Opposite that are a chair and table (these will need to be removed) and the Sofa that turns into the 2nd bed. We had the beds configured into the King. and there is a very small (about 8" wide) nightstand on either side of the bed with a lamp on each one. There is about 20" between the end of the bed and the wall to get to the other side of the bed, and to get to the door to the balcony. There are 2 chairs and a small round table outside. There is no room for a lounger even without the chairs and table. Also the balcony is not open to the sky so tanning is not an option. Did not try wifi Hope this helps, Keith
Melvillean Posted June 9, 2008 #10 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Keith, thanks a bunch - that is very helpful. I guess we need to hope for a new cabin steward, but otherwise it all sounds good. I intend to be on the balcony a fair amount, but a chair (or standing) is fine. Thanks!

Georgiagolfer Posted June 9, 2008 #16 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Welcome back! Can you tell me if there is a "clothing optional" deck on the Glory? thanks, There is not a "clothing optional" deck on Glory. However, there is an adults only deck by the funnel. Go through the basketball court and there is a swing gate at stairs with a sign that is marked adults only. Very quiet area and only used sparingly. A couple times when DW and I were there there was several ladies topless, but not often.
NCTribeFan Posted June 9, 2008 #17 Share Posted June 9, 2008 Sorry you missed Belize. It was a great port. For those with many questions on upcoming Glory cruises, if you haven't already found it, here's the "All Things Glory" thread. http://boards.cruisecritic.com/showthread.php?t=664175&highlight=glory Also recommend doing some reading on the Ports of Call boards. We really enjoyed all four ports and agonized of which tours to do and with whom. I enjoyed Freeport much more this time around.

If so who was there and was he any good? Thanks, We went on one time, tribute to Sinatra. Did not stay long as someone was smoking a cigar. Do not remember his name but as we walked by several times during the evenings he sounded pretty good. We were at table 307 in the Platnum DR. this was an 8 top table. The waiter aways forgot to bring something for someone during each course. Seemed disorganized. Never remembered who drank tea or coffee etc. He was not that busy as two of his tables never showed up after the first night. Keith

I do have a question. we just got off the Adventure of the Seas and loved the ship, esp. the Promenade area. I was told that the Glory also has something similar, i.e. an ara to stroll that resembles a street with shops, bars, etc. on either side. Is this tru? Tnak you. larry
