Laundry....I know I am on vacation but...

Total for cycle times are around 1 1/2 hours. I highly recommed washing and then coming back to place in dryer as the rooms are small and hot, but it's a great place to meet and talk to fellow passengers.

I did a few loads when we were on the Triumph. Yes, it is a great place to talk with other passengers. I even showed one guy how to iron his shirt, he only brought one long sleeve shirt to wear at dinner!

I think it took a little less than 1.5 hours to wash/dry all the loads... I just stood there and read my book until someone came in, then we'd talk for awhile.

I have to say I never thought Laundry would be such a topic of conversation....

We won't be bringing jeans....but, I work out everyday and I don't want to bring a weeks worth of clothes for that and then all the clothes for dinner and then all the clothes in between....so laundry is the way to go!

We did the $15 per bag too. It was soo worth it. For a family of 3 it cost us $75. The bags are small and when we went we needed sweatshirts and sweatpants for the cruise down. That took up a lot of room.

It was def worth it because we just packed it right in our suitcase. I had no desire while on vacation to sit there and do my laundry. I don't even like doing it at home.

Who said anything about sitting there and doing laundry...I plan to put the laundry in....come back in about 30 mins and move it to the dryer - check on that in about 30 mins and if still come back again....I don't think it is necessary to sit there and watch the laundry.....just doing it will be fine...I can even go up to the pool for the time and come back down....I just think it makes sense now a days to think about that so you don't have to pack as much stuff! Carnival is the only line that does have the self laundry...personally I would rather spend $75 on drinks or an excursion instead of laundry....

Hey - can anyone tell me where the laundry room is located on deck 7 on the miracle?

Also, has anyone done laundry how long is the wash cycle and the dryer?

Laura:)

I don't blame you, I want my laundry back right after I do it. We just got back Thursday from the Inspiration and 38 minutes wash and 40 mins dry but we needed to feed a few more quarters in the dryer to finish off the clothes. $2 for the washer, $2 for the dryer then 25¢ for each additional 5 mins in the dryer. We did the wash while in port. Apparently I didn't tell my DS how many shirts he would need? Hmm, seems like I told him several times and even gave him a written list but I didn't know that he wouldn't wear something more than once!

Yep... the Famous Fifteen Dollar Bag... all the laundry you can cram in the bag they provide for fifteen bucks...

Prett good deal.

Cool...:D

Do all Carnival ships offer the $15 bag? Is it usually mid-week? I'm so planning to repeat/mix my outfits. Leaving room in the luggage souvenirs! Personal souvenirs at that!

I should tell you that we put the clothes in the dryer then went to the atrium to people watch and wait and when we came back, someone had opened the dryer and didn't restart so the time ran out and the clothes were still dripping wet so we plugged another $2 in and I checked it frequently so it wouldn't happen again. Anyway, it was under $10 for a load even with the issue so worth it.

Well, with three kids, I do laundry on our cruises A LOT!!

We bring a mesh collapsable hamper with us, it works out great to cart the clothes to the laundry room.

I am an early riser, so I put a load in first thing in the morning, go and take a shower, put it in the dryer, grab breakfast and before I know it, it's done!

It saves on packing - and my boys tend to wear the same clothes over and over again anyway.

Our best cabin was #9270 on the Victory - right across the hall from the laundry room!

Cool! Thanks for this link.

I learned that the laundry room a few doors down and across from my room. The first thing I do when I get my luggage is completely unpack and iron. While the washer and dryers are likely inoperable while in port, maybe I can get to an ironing board and take care of all of our clothes. If not, I will do it, time we leave port.

While the washer and dryers are likely inoperable while in port....

My experience has been the laundry rooms are open 24/7 and I have not had any problems washing while in port. I seem to recall no issues with doing laundry while docked in Puerto Rico, Barbados, St. Thomas, Puerto Villarta, Mazatlan, Cabo....

Check with your cabin steward on location, hours, length of cycles, etc. They are really helpful regarding the laundry rooms.

Yes, laundry soap (Tide and maybe one other type), fabric softener (Downey) and dryer sheets (Bounce maybe?) are available just like at most laundry mats. Or bring some from home.

Don't worry about carrying quarters from home...too heavy now with most the airlines charging for checked and/or overweight luggage! Instead, get quarters at the casino or the purser's desk.

Also, I like being able to pull slightly damp items (cotton or linen) out of the dryer and ironing them right there.

Finally, I recommend avoiding the laundry room during the afternoon of "dress up" nights. Seems like everyone and their brother wait in line for use of the iron! Yes, it's a nice way to meet your neighbors but I'd rather spend my time elsewhere! LOL.
