Balcony v. Mini-Suite on Emerald???

No one has discussed the balcony issue here...mini-suites (on most ships) are on the dolphin deck and have a fully exposed (large) balcony. The balcony rooms have a larger, but half covered, half-not balcony. this makes a difference to some people.

I believe only the balconies on the Caribe deck are half and half. On the other decks the balconies are the same for balcony rooms or mini-suites. At least that's the way it was on the Golden Princess.

I'm looking at booking my first mini for Alaska next year on the Island. Can anyone tell me what the difference in mini's are (ac, ad, ab, af), besides the deck its on. It shows a standard picture thats the same for all those classes.

ukbballfan,

Minisuites are great, if you're like me and not into taking showers:rolleyes: . That being said, they do all have the same floor plan on Island.

We took the Island to Hawaii and had an AA minisuite on Baja near the front of the ship. It had a covered balcony which you would probably find best for Alaska (in case of rain). Be careful tho, to not book one that is only listed Oceanview - balconies are our favorite part of sailing.:D

Enjoy Alaska!

Jean
