Voyager Excursions

Recommended Posts

I will be going on the Voyager leaving out of Barcelona in November. Does anyone have any info/reviews about the excursions offered by the ship? Most of the reviews I have seen are for the private companies. The private tours are too expensive for two people.

I would perhaps be a little more specific about which excursions you are interested in.

Perhaps if you looked over the ones offered by the ship....then post again with the ports and excursions you are interested in.....you will get a better response.

If there is anything to be true.... it is that Cruisecritic posters love to tell you about their experiences. But it would help to narrow down the field a bit :D

We did Brilliance of the Seas Rome to Barcelona last November. Not sure which ports you will be visiting and if they would be the same as we did...but we did quite a few ships tours and enjoyed them ALOT !

When are you leaving from Barcelona? We are on a cruise the beginning of November and we're possibly in ports the same day, as we are currently looking for people to share private tours with?

Nice, Eze & Monaco

Sicily - no idea

Rosie: Perhaps things will work out and you can share a tour with Antsy....

but if not.....

We took the "Pisa and Florence On Your Own" tour thru the cruiseline. Basically a bus ride to your destination with a little information and history about the area thrown in while on the ride. Once there they walk you to the historical area and give you a time and place to meet back. This allow you to explore on your own and we found it to be a great way to get there and back and see what we wanted to see.

Rome: We stayed 2 nights precruise so can't help you with tours there.

Capri - did not do Capri either. Did a private tour of Pompeii and amalfi coast.

Sicily - nope didnt go there.

Nice, Eze and Monaco: We did the ships tour here and enjoyed our day ALOT ! Nice was pretty as we stopped along the Blvd. de Anglaise (sp?) and even got to the see the French President as he was visiting that day. We were the only bus to stop as there was lots of security and road blockages. But we had left early and were in before that all became a problem. Eze was a little gem in the mountain and we climbed all over it :) Had a wonderful lunch (included) here at the White Horse Restaurant. Monaco we saw the palace, the cathedral where Princess Grace and Prince Rainier were buried, and even had some time left for a short visit to the Jacques Cousteau Oceangraphic Museum. Monte Carlo we chose not to go into the casino but rather found a perfect table outside at the Cafe De Paris and had coffee and crepes and people watched !!

Hope this helps. We normally don't like to do ships tours but we enjoyed the ones we took while there.

Antsy: We also cruised this area in November (very off season). We did a private tour thru APTours and we fit in even more !!! We met our driver at 8:00 am and went straight to Pompeii. We did a private tour with guide for about 2-1/2 hrs. Then to Ravello (charming mountainside village) then to Amalfi (had lunch there) then to Positano(explored for about an hour down to the beach) and then to Sorrento where we took the ferry back to Naples. For a photographer, Ravello and Amalfi are also not to be missed. Not to mention the drive along the way. We stopped at a few places - once to shop and others for photo ops so was not a particularly hurry-to-get-there day but rather our driver was great at keeping us on schedule so as to maximize our time. We had about an hr in each village (maybe a bit more in Amalfi for lunch). Ferry took @30 minutes to take us back to Naples versus driving back @ 1 hr. so saved us a little time there. The ferry docked right next to our ship so real convenient there too. So - it is possible to fit alot in when there in off season. Traffic was almost non-existent and no crowds or hassle. Just fyi

Thanks for the itinerary help.

We didn't really plan anything yet with them, as we're just figuring out what we want to do that do.

We're really excited that they include a private tour guide for the trip to Pompeii, but I will certainly ship them some of your itinerary to see if they can do that for us.

Pompeii`s great but I prefer Ravello and Amalfi to Sorrento and Positano. It`s personal of course but I have visited area a few times. You must choose and look at cruise critics and travel/destination websites.

Hi,

It would be great except we are going to skip Pompeii. We went to Pompeii last year and we would rather see new sites. I found another couple on my cruise. I will see if they are interested.
