Found this on the carnival website FAQ:

What is the Fountain Fun Card?spacer.gifWe will offer to all guests the option to purchase a "Fountain Fun Card" which will allow them unlimited soft drinks for the duration of the cruise at a one time purchase price (including gratuities). The "Fountain Fun Card" can be purchased at the casino, lobby and pool bar onboard the ship. In all locations where beverage service is offered, guests may receive a glass of the soft drink of their choice - one glass will be served at a time and only to the guest whose name appears on the card. The card cannot be used through room service.

NOTE: A 15% gratuity will automatically be added on at the time of purchase of the Fountain Fun Card.

I believe that the cost is $7.00 a day.

One hint, which is TRUE>>>>

Do not purchase the Fountain Fun Card until AFTER you leave Port.

If you purchase it while still in Florida, you get charged Florida Taxes!!

We usually purchase ours for our kids after sailaway.

Can the soda cards be used in the dinning room?

Spelling and Grammar Errors

It is important to remember that everyone makes mistakes at one time or another, and that there are many users who use English as a second language, especially on our Cruise Boards. There are also a number of people who suffer from learning disabilities and who have difficulty noticing their spelling mistakes. Do not make comments on the spelling and grammar of other users. It is simply not a productive expenditure of energies.

It's not much savings.....6% or so...

7 days x 6.00 day = 42.00 x.06 = 2.52

Yes, you may think it is wierd, but when you spend $3500.00 for a family of five just to get on the ship, every dollar counts!

Are you out of your mind, making huge assumptions or are you simply applying for a mod position?

I was asking for clarification...nothing more, nothing less.. ;)

Bottom line is the convieance of the card IMHO, if you drink a lot of soda then to me the card is worth it i drink average of 3 a day so to me i think its good. However since i prefer Pepsi over Coke i will bring some Pepsu this trip and see how that works out . But just remember the card is one card per person so you mutiply that times the people in your party that are soda drinkers.

I have a question.... At what age is a "Child" expected to pay the "Adult" price??

I was considering getting the cards for my 13 & 15 yr old boys. At $4.50 it's a deal but at $6.00 I think I'll probably break even...

Yep...you will get charged tax in any American port. You have to wait until you are outside American waters.

A can of soda runs just slightly over $2 a can with tip. If people only drink a couple of cans a day the card is not worth it. Also folks remember....In the Lido there is iced tea, lemonade and fruit juices for free.......;)

Clarification would not have required the embarassment smilie.

Every dollar always counts, but this is still weird!

Why is it weird? Now I am confused. Weird that the tax applies in FL but not in international waters? Ok....weird that someone wants to save a few bucks? Not weird.

We didn't know that and bought it before we sailed but DS didn't use it enough to make it worth it anyway. I found myself saying "get some soda, please for the love of God drink more soda" but the convenience was well worth it and at least he didn't feel as though he had to ask if he could get a soda.

Thank you!

Yes, I check my prices all the time too - I am one of those "wierd people" who call and get my cruise reduced by $30.00 pp!

We bring soda on board for the adults - but getting a soda card for this kids is a special thing for them.

We DO work hard and save our money to take our family on a cruise each year. It is all the $6 and $7 dollar savings that add up to the thousands we need for our vacation!

I bought a soda card the day after we set sail; it was $42. I bought just one card (adult) and shared w/ my DH. We were on the Pride and really no one cared that I had a soda in hand already when I'd go up to the bar for another one and gave that to my DH. Or on the way to the dining room, I'd stop at the bar get a soda, hand that to DH and while passing the 2nd bar I'd go get another one - no big deal. I saved a ton of money doing it that way - you're not supposed to share, but I did it anyway - you can always find a way. Only thing is you can't use the card for room service soda.
