Disembark on second at last port?

We are going Auckland - Honolulu in April 2009 on Millennium. The second to last port is Hilo. We live in South Kona and would find it much more convenient to just get off in Hilo instead of schlepping back to the Big Island from Honolulu the next morning. The idea of being able to skip the airport hassle is compelling.

Has anyone ever done this who can advise on how to arrange it? Do they even allow such a thing? I guess customs might be an issue.

Oops, I meant second TO last port

You would need to contact Celebrity for it to be arranged.

The big issue in most US ports is whether or not it will violate the PVSA. But since you will board the ship in Auckland, no matter where you disembark in the USA there won't be any PVSA violations. You will go through immigration at your first US port of call, so if Celebrity can arrange a customs call for you then you should be able to disembark at Hilo.
