Mexican Riviera ???

Hi, I was hoping someone could help me. We have cruised before with our son when he was 10 months old and it worked out well, however, it was a pain how he couldn't swim in the pool on board the ship...RCCL Explorer. We said we would not cruise again until he could swim. We are planning a trip to LA next May and was thinking of cruising the Mexican Riviera with him...he will be 2...not sure if he will be potty trained at this point...thinking not...but I have heard there are some cruise ships where babies/toddlers can swim in a pool with their swim diapers...

Does anyone know which cruise line this is and if they sail the Mexican Riviera?

Thanks!!

I am interested in this too, as we will be cruising with a 3 yr old (she better be potty trained by then;) ). We will be on Carnival going on the Mexican Riviera. You may want to check with your cruise line specifically but I think they only restriction a child who is not potty trained would have is that they can't go in the pools. Can anyone clarrify or expand??

Babies in diapers/swim diapers is an endless debate on this board and there are many, many threads discussing this topic. They are not allowed in any adult pools on any lines that I know of.

Not in the Mexican Riviera (though I think Disney has started cruising along the Pacific, but their prices are sky-high).

Just FYI - my non-potty trained twins have done four cruises in the Mexican Riviera and we don't miss the pool. There is so much to do on board, and we swim on the three port days. At first, I brought along a blow-up pool for use on deck, but we never got around to using it for anything but baths in the cabin.

If you must be able to have a ship where your toddler can use the pools, you'll have to go over to the Carib on one of the newer RCCL or Carnival ships that provide infant/toddler water play areas.

Best,

Mia

We went on the Carnival Pride just a month ago with our 23 month old daughter. My mom took her to the toddler pool at the top of the ship in a swim diaper. You couldn't tell she had the diaper on at all. The funny thing is, the captain of the ship's son was with the captain's wife only in a diaper. So we didn't feel bad at all.

This is true, especially the cruises in the Pacific. They sell out very quickly, too.

We are doing a Mexican Riviera cruise with our son who will be 16 months old and are planning to do the blow-up pool thing, and as much beach time in port as possible.
