Baseball All-Star Game on Sea Princess?

We'll be on the Sea Princess next week during the All-Star Game. I realize that we'll be six hours ahead of game time, but I was wondering if it would be shown live, or perhaps tape delayed for the next day.

 

Given the fact that a very high percentage of the passengers will be European (and probably don't care about it), is it just wishful thinking on my part?

I'm not sure how sailing in Europe will affect the possibility of them showing the All Star Game, but in January when the Sea Princess was in the Caribbean they did not show the football playoffs on the MUTS screen, but did put it on for my husband and one other fellow in the casino. I think it was playing on the stateroom TV also. Believe me the British passengers aren't interested in watching our sports. They are passionate about their own football.

in 2006 I was on the Grand in the caribbean for the all star game. They did not show it on MUTS, which we were a bit surprised...but they had it on in the cigar bar.

 

I think however Princess is showing more sports on MUTS when they can as they did have football on over thanksgiving last year...I know none of that really helps you at all..sorry.:o

Be sure to report back, we are sailing on the Sea from August 30 - Sept. 13th the beginning of the college football season. I'm really hoping they will show some games.

Baseball is called "rounders" in the UK and is played by 6 year old girls. It doesn't appear on television.

 

We do have that other game you have on the tele, called "Adverts". Although we put television programmes in the brief pauses between adverts, rather than something called a "Sugarbowl" (?) where grown men wearing enormous quantities of protective clothing hug each other and chase each other until a man dressed as a zebra throws a little yellow handkerchief at them.

 

Finally, we also have basketball, but it's called "netball" here and played by....yes you guessed it, 6 year old girls (the taller ones who can't get boyfriends).

 

Remind me, how did you guys win all those wars????

I believe this is a perfect example of why they aren't showing the American sports on MUTS on the Sea Princess.;)

On the Sea Princess there always seemed to be soccer on the big screen at the bar. Twice, when there weren't many around, we were able to get them to turn the TV to American Football.

But it didn't happen very often.

Why would you care? I'm about as big a baseball fan as they come, but even I can't get that excited about the All-Star game. I normally watch it, but it's not like I'd feel like I was missing out on something important if I missed it.

 

If MLB doesn't even care enough to bother finishing the game, like they did a few years ago when Joe Torre whined to the Commissioner because he didn't have any more pitchers, I don't know how they can expect us to care either.

 

(I'd have loved to hear the Bud Selig, when Torre said he had no more pitchers and wanted to know what to do, told him "Well that sounds like some pretty poor managing to me Joe, to burn up your entire pitching staff in 10 innings, even with an expanded roster. But my advice to you would be to do whatever you would do in a regular season game if you were down to your final pitcher. Play ball!")

My family was awarded its title by someone you may have heard of, Robert the Bruce, in 1315, due to services rendered at the Battle of Bannockburn.

We were on the Golden last month during the NBA finals, and the ship got a feed for game 5, but not game 6. It was in every stateroom. Game 6 was on ESPN immediately after it was over. Don't know if this helps...just letting you know that Princess is aware of major sports events and the desire that some passengers have to see it live. (We were impressed):)

Ahh but I'm sure he such a gentleman that he would not allow a female to buy drinks for him and would insist on buying for me - therefore I would save money!
