Sandytoes Posted July 9, 2008 #1 Share Posted July 9, 2008 I know on the Crown you can stand on top of the bridge (where the bridge extends like wings) To get on top, I'm wondering if it's the same way as on the Crown. On Lido deck 15 forward go through the hallway of staterooms on the starboard side. At the front of the ship do not turn but go through an unmarked door (there is an exit sign pointing to the port side. You will then be in a short hallway that leads to a second door that will take you outside on top of the bridge. this is a great place to be whenever entering or leaving a port. JWJs Posted July 9, 2008 #3 Share Posted July 9, 2008 Neat. Anyone know if you can do this on the Emerald? Bet you could get some great pictures from that vantage point.
choochella Posted July 9, 2008 #4 Share Posted July 9, 2008 Yes, you can do it from the Emerald. Great views from up there!! Just be careful. There is a lot of wind when you open the second door that leads to the outside.

camarodrivenrs Posted July 9, 2008 #6 Share Posted July 9, 2008 Why dont they show that on the deck plans? Are you not supposed to be there?
Id rather be diving Posted July 9, 2008 #7 Share Posted July 9, 2008 We went up to the deck above the bridge on the Emerald last year when we left Lisbon. What a great place to view the bridge in Lisbon. The top of the Emerald Princess only clears the bridge by about 4 feet. It was amazing. I was also able to get a really good video of the pilot getting off the Emerald and back into the pilot boat from this vantage point.
Sandytoes Posted July 9, 2008 Author #8 Share Posted July 9, 2008 Always knew about how to get up there but never did it. We will give it a try, just to see how it looks sailing under the Verrazano Bridge.
Atomica Posted July 9, 2008 #9 Share Posted July 9, 2008 I wanted to stand up there on both our Crown & Golden cruise, but on both access to the top was closed off for the duration of the trip! Maybe I'll have more luck next July...
doublemm16 Posted July 9, 2008 #10 Share Posted July 9, 2008 We were on the 6/22 Caribbean Princess cruise and we could see people standing on top of the Bridge from our balcony on the Dolphin Deck. It looked neat!
ggprincess2004 Posted July 9, 2008 #11 Share Posted July 9, 2008 It does provide a sweeping panorama, but is no so "neat" for those in the most forward suites on Lido - you can look right down into the balcony. In fact, on the Caribbean, one of the ladies enjoying her balcony did ask me how to get up there.......
