Getting from Monarch to airport-LAX

Recommended Posts

We are flying into LAX and I am using SuperShuttle to get us from the airport to the cruise terminal. But, what is the best way to get back to the airport? When booking with SuperShuttle, they give you 4 choices for pick up times. Since I don't know exactly what time we will make it off the ship, I don't know what time to choose. And if we are late getting off the ship, will there be another SuperShuttle we can catch? From what I've read on these boards, a taxi to LAX would cost around $75 whereas the shuttle would be about $51, cheaper with the discount code I have.

Any suggestions???

Or speak with RCCL and see if you cannot arrange a shuttle round trip. It may be less than what you are paying Supershuttle and the cruise shuttles are nice buses instead of vans. Plus the cruiseline can leison their shuttles with their disembarkation with the airport.

You will be fine with Super shuttle. They just ask for a general time. Usually they want your flight time also, and so will the cruise line, you will get tags to be off the ship according to that. Also check the price of Primetime shuttle.

I'm sure that SuperShuttle is cheaper than RCCL ... and I'm also sure that the experience will be better (10 people in a shuttle may be a little cramped, but it's better than waiting for 60 to debark, get their luggage, etc).

Don't sweat the times. They have a stand outside that both people with reservations and those without can use. If you are going to LAX, lots of people are going that direction, so it's not like there will be a special shuttle just waiting there for you. If you are early or late, they will just check their list, cross you off, and board you if the shuttle is there. It is a pretty easy process.

You just go back the same way that you came. There are always Super Shuttle and Prime Time shuttle vans lined up in the parking lot at San Pedro. If one is full, another one will be pulling up shortly. No sweat.

We signed up for the tour the ship offered. We were in the first group escorted off the ship by the RCCL representitive and taken to the front of the line. We pointed out our luggage to the porter and he loaded it on a cart. We passed thru customs and boarded the bus. It took about 15 minutes. The tour took us around Hollywod, Santa Monica, Venice and to the airport. We stopped at the usual touristy places and for lunch (not included) at a big market in the center of Hollywood. It wasn't very expensive @$40 and we really enjoyed it. The bus was med-sized with @ 15 people. Relaxing and quiet with lots of empty seats. I felt it was worth it. We were at the airport @ 2, dropped off in front of our respective terminals.

You were lucky. (I'm glad that you enjoyed the excursion). It is often cancelled due to lack of interest.

We used Prime Shuttle. Super Shuttle and Prime Shuttle share a pick up point at LAX and San Pedro anyways.

We pre-booked Prime Shuttle for LAX and the pier. Our pick up time was 8:05. I think they put shuttles right at the pier for each of their pick up times they list. They wait until its full (which was only 10 minutes in our case) and off we went.

BTW, we paid $32 for two each way.

What time is your flight out of LAX?

Can someone tell me how I go about making reservations for Super Shuttle? I'd like them to pick me up at my hotel (near LAX) and then return me to LAX after my cruise. When I try to book online, I'm seeing that they'll book RT to/from LAX, but there's no spot to book from a hotel and back to the airport (at least not that I'm seeing).

If I have to call them, will my discount code work or is that only good when reserving online?
