Help Choosing Ship- Glory vs. Triumph vs. Miracle

Hi everyone- I'm in the middle of deciding on a cruise and right now the iteneraries are kind of even as are the ports and some slight price differences but my main concern right now is the ship. We sailed on Legend in April and loved it!! so I'm pretty sure we will like Miracle but Glory and Triumph have cruises that the departure port is a little closer and the price is a little better so I am considering those as well. My one concern is that DH really hates crowds!! We only experienced crowds a couple of time on Legend and I've read on these board that the Spirit class ships seem less crowded.

I'd love to have the opinion from some of you veteran cruisers on your thoughts about the crowds between the 3 classes!

Thanks for all the help.

Shannon

Kathy- Thanks for the response.

We are going in late March or late April so we should be good as far as school on both- I know some schools get out really early but I would think that would be the exception rather than the rule.

Shannon, just remember about Spring Break. I'm not sure what dates are, but thought I would throw that in the pot. We've been on both Glory and Triumph and have enjoyed each and every cruise, but I hear the spirit class is a little less crowded. I guess I really am not that much help!

Some cities have Spring Break in April.

The Miracle is a great ship and so is the Glory. I like to try new things so that's would be why I recommend going on either the Glory or Triumph. The Glory is newer than the Triumph and has a supper club.

The Miracle will be exactly the same as the Legend except for the interior decorations. I think the Spirit class ships can get crowded, too, so it really depends on when you go.

Sailed Miracle in December and Glory in May. I think I prefer the Miracle, but there were things about the Glory I liked. I was a little surprised, as I was afraid I'd dislike the size and the crowd.

But, honestly, every cruise I've been on has been full and the only time I ever notice a crowd is when everyone's trying to disembark when first arriving in port, trying to get into the Captain's Party for free drinks, or hitting the buffet at lunchtime.

Preferred Miracle's layout and really appreciated the ventilation. My favorite was winning $899 on the final night playing the $1 Wheel of Fortune slot. Loved the adults-only aft pool area.

On Glory, loved the Fish & Chips, hated the main Lido pool area, hated the smokiness of the casino and Ivory lounge. Couldn't even tell the Glory was moving, the ride was so smooth.

May book a Miracle Reunion sailing in December 2009, but I wouldn't hesitate to book a Conquest class if the itinerary and price were right!

Cruised the Glory July 07 and it was full as school was out. Crowded around the pool. Had a Panorama deck balcony - it was great for location and didn't have to deal with elevators much. Ship was sold out!

Cruised the Triumph Christmas 06 and never felt crowded - weather was nice but pool area busy yet not crowded. Had an Aft balcony - great - especially for the view in Ocho Rios. Two flights of stairs to the pool.

Ship was not completely full.

Service and accomodations were great on both ships, but I would have to give the nod to the Glory for being slightly better. You wouldn't go wrong with either ship - go by itinerary and price. Triumph has an "older feel" to it and I think it is scheduled for an upgrade. Glory felt "newer". Supper club on Glory was outstanding!

Depending on where you are driving from, Port Canaveral may be easier than Miami (construction downtown) if that is a concern.

All being said, time of year may be the most significant factor whether or not the ship feels crowded.

Happy cruising!

You already pretty much know what you will get with the Miracle. When it comes down to Triumph and Glory, I would probably choose the Glory. It handles a little over 200 more PAX, but is a bigger design so that the Conquest Class feels less crowded than the Destiny/Triumph Class.

As far as layout Triumph and Glory are very similar, but with Glory being a bigger version of Triumph it offers 4 instead of 2 buffet lines, the Sur Mer on Panorama (above the buffet), and the Emerald Room (supper club) on Panorama.

Keep in mind that due to the placement of the Dining Rooms on both of these classes, the only public decks that go all the way from bow to stern are Decks 5 (Promenade) and Deck 9 (Lido).

I vote Miracle. we're platinum and have been on all class ships and prefer the spirit class ship. It seems to flow better to me and not as many bottle necks.

Pat

Agreed. Legend was our favorite. But if choosing one of the "Mega Ships", I thought the Conquest Class gave an overall less crowded feel. The additional buffet lines eased the bottle necks and additional deck space just made for so many more options to find some place quiet. Then again, book a balcony on either class, and you can always find quiet. ;)
