Snorkeling in Key West

I was curious if there is any good snorkeling places on Key West beaches, or do we need to purchase a boat ride out to where the fish and reefs are?

You need to purchase a boat ride. Sebago and Fury are two good ones.

The water at the beaches in Key West are not very clear. The water is kind of murky, you would need to take a boat if you want good snorkeling.
