Upgrade Fairy Question?

This might be a silly question but if we booked with a TA is there a remote chance of us getting a visit from the upgrade fairy? Not that I would ever expect a visit from her but I am curious if she only visits if you book with the cruise line directly. Thanks in advance.

It can happen if you book with a TA or direct.

There is no rhyme or reason for when she shows up. It is a most pleasant surprise most of the time.

It doesn't matter who you book with. It doesn't matter when you book. She does visit the Diamond plus members first if there are any upgrades

We have 2 separate cruises booked with RCCL this year and no upgrade on either and we are platinium.

Someone on these boards was just upgraded from a JS to a GS! That's pretty nice! (Although they didn't want to give up an aft JS)

So it does happen--wish it would happen to me!

I can attest to the fairy, my whole family are diamond members (mom, dad, brother and myself) we were in a superior oceanview balcony room on a 12 day mediterrianian(sp?) cruise and when we checked in they told us there was a change in our room assignment and we were put in a Grand Suite for the 12 days, it was very very nice, but hasn't happened since

I believe that the upgrade fairy has been downgraded to an upgrade elf.

 

The upgrades just don't seem to appear as often as they did.

 

Maybe in the future......the elf will once again be upgraded to a fairy!!:D

We were just upgraded on our July 4th Med cruise from a balcony to a JS. The JS was a handicap room but we weren't complaining.
