Question for Platinum Cruisers

I was platinum last november on the Sensation and when we debarked, we were told to meet in the card room. They escorted us off the ship FIRST, before they started calling colors, numbers or letters. We were treated like royalty......it was great! :p I'm sure they all do it alittle different but that's to be expected. Trisha

On our last two cruises for debarkation we met in a room with Platinum members but were called after the self-assist.

We are Platinum on our next cruise, " We're late cruisers". If my DW and I both are platinum, do we both get a gift or is that per cabin? Or want a special dining time or seat, do we have priority?

The beach bags used to be "per person" and then they went ""per cabin".

So far, since they have started with the thermos...it has still been "per person" ...however, I expect them to go "per cabin" with that eventfully as well.

If you do only get one thermos and you want another one, simply go to the Purser's Desk and let them know there are TWO Platinum folks in your cabin. They will give you another one.

One of the perks is "guaranteed seating" (early or late)...whichever is your preference.

With all the windows in the owners suite. Do you have to keep all the shades closed during the day to keep it cool?

On a couple of sailings, it was definitely an issue. On our recent Inspiration cruise though the AC was the coldest yet - easily keeping the room in the low 70's . . . well, perhaps mid 70's during the day.

On our last cruise on the Victory which made us Platinum I was asked by the pursur by the Concierge line to please go to the back of the line, not once on the cruise but TWICE!!! Really made me mad I had been standing there for at least 10 minutes and they helped people in the regular line.

I even had my card out so they could clearly see I was in the right line.

So I was thinking these perks weren't all they were made out to be - but we did enjoy the free laundry service and I guess we have quite a few thermos coming our way (not sure what I can do with more than one of them though!)

I would have asked..."can you read the sign above this desk?" If not, find me someone who can!

I do try to be respectful. If there is only one Purser working the desk and it is not an emergency....I just wait in the regular line. However, if there are two or more there...I walk right up to the Platinum line!!
